Remembrance Day..

In no mans land the guns fell still
Almost a hundred years ago
The war to end all wars they said
How little did they know..

The wisdom of the words above always resonate the most with me because of the truth they tell, then, the years following and sadly even now today. London Court in the city has been beautifully decorated with thousands of poppies in honour of the boundless lives lost in wars, hand knitted by volunteers from the Returned and Services League WA. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe.. 💝

  1. Those words are so profound.....and true. I love all the poppies. They've done a wonderful job with this display. London Court....I bet I'd be spending some time there if I visited Perth.

  2. ...a day of remembrance and a day to understand that war is not a solution to problems.

  3. Lovely photos for Remembrance Day when we should all honor our veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Like your initial quote.

  4. Beautiful but would it be nice if there were fewer poppies on those chains.

  5. Remembrance Day is an annual observance and not a public holiday in the Netherlands! Very nice photos.
    Have a great day tomorrow!

  6. It is a solemn occasion. We are to have a lot of snow tomorrow which may put a damper on some of the observances here.

  7. A very poignant poem but it does, as you say, tell the truth of the matter. Lovely poppies.

  13. Very beautiful, Grace! I still have your poppy-bag right here at my wall beside the screen.
And at 11:11 a.m. or such they start celebrating carnival in the South of Germany :-(
Respectful greetings from the North... I am a "fish-head" with pride. And I feel ashamed none the less.
