Book owls..

You might remember how excited I got when I saw and took photos of the tawny frogmouth, see here, last year.. I was almost as excited to find the pair here :) I asked and got permission from the school to take these pics, part of a wraparound mural painted last year on the outside wall of the school library by Perth artist/illustrator Paul Deej, the frames on the wall to the right were left to be filled in with drawings by the children, such a cool idea. I know strictly speaking the tawny frogmouth isn't technically an owl, but you have to admit they look right at home amongst the literary volumes here 💙 Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  8. I'd never heard of a tawny frogmouth, Grace, so it was good you shared what they REALLY look like. The mural you found at the school library would certainly inspire young minds. It's gorgeous and a great find.

  14. Yes, owls and books seem to rather go together. I think owls and tawny frogmouths are the well read birds of the world.
