Well.. it's still hot, 36C today, but my energy levels are revived :) We were up at the crack of dawn yesterday to see Sculpture by the Sea 2020 on Cottesloe Beach. A glimpse of the Indian Ocean and surrounds reflected here in a sculpture by Perth artist Johannes Pannekoek. Created in stainless steel and corten steel 'Symphony in C' looked fabulous in the early morning sunlight. Show you more on Wednesday.. I hope you are ready for an arty kind of week 😉Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
Beautiful sculpture Grace, and great reflections too.
ReplyDeleteI thought of going to Cottesloe today, but too much to do to prepare for next Saturday, so will have to leave until after Karina arrives.
The sculpture is a beauty and I love all the reflections you can see in it. Wonderful pic, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWell Check That Out - Outstanding
ReplyDeleteCheers
Glad you are back!😊
ReplyDeleteYou have made very beautiful reflections! I can't wait until Wednesday! Wish you a nice week! 🤗
Wonderfully swirly!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thirty three degrees cooler here today.
I've seen a few stainless steel sculptures and find them very attractive, though I do wonder what they'd look like after a decade or two of standing outside in English weather. You've caught some attractive reflections too. Looking forward to seeing more later this week.
ReplyDeleteTerrific photo of this excellent sculpture, and yes, I am looking forward to seeing more. It took me a moment to "see" your photo properly. This is a good thing. Hope you enjoy the heat and have a great week.
ReplyDeleteamazing!! EW :)
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your pics of this event!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you have a Gillie & Marc piece, Grace!
...I always enjoy your Sculptures by the Sea.
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing, I am so impressed the amount of art you have around. There is a lot in Angouleme but we seldom go there as Nigel cannot walk far. I could spend a whole day there easily. Hope you are well Diane
ReplyDeleteOnce again, Perth lures me from Honolulu with her Art, light, Indian Ocean and YOU,G!
ReplyDeleteThat's rather lovely. It reminds me a bit of one we have in my local city, Bradford. Sadly, ours doesn't reflect the ocean!
ReplyDeleteThe reflection on steel is a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteStriking!
ReplyDeleteThat is awsome
ReplyDeleteOhhh. YES. I am so ready for this, Grace!
ReplyDeleteGlad you´re back and weee... I so love this event and please keep us updated on the Indiana?
You can't have a name more dutch then Pannekoek but a good artist he is with that mirrorlike surface in his sculpture. I like it.
ReplyDeleteMr "Pancake" made a beautiful sculpture en you a beautifukl photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing piece!
ReplyDeleteAn "arty" kind of week sounds perfect to me. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteC'est une belle sculpture mais ce qui est beau c'est le paysage qui se reflète.
ReplyDeleteVivement mercredi :)
I like this way of working with steel, and the distorted reflections mean that the sculpture is never the same because everyone who looks at it sees something different reflected in it.Enjoy the end of your summer
ReplyDeleteI have loved your arty week.
