There was no billy boiling by the billabong yesterday while strolling around the marina with my sisters, a treat in itself, but the warm familiar notes of Waltzing Matilda floating through the air was an unexpected bonus. I'm only guessing it was a viola, it could have been a violin, I wish I had asked when I chatted to the lovely auburn haired lass playing. Not the quiet of a bush billabong scenario but quiet nonetheless, happy to say that even though things have relaxed in Perth it is good to see that Perthites are still being fairly sensible re the social distancing.. it's the only way. Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
How delightful to walk around with live music in the background. We have also had some relaxation today and we do not have to carry permits everywhere unless we are going more that 100 kms from home. Also I am allowed to walk more than 1 km radius from home now but the fact that it is raining all this week I will not be taking advantage of it! Take care Diane

ReplyDeleteCheers
Whenever I travel and see some street performers, I really stop for a minute or two and admire their music! Once there was a biolinist like the one shared in Taipei and he was playing Moon River, it got me to tears. Then a duo who were playing medieval instruments in Milan is something I will forever remember! Beautiful moments are made when views are packaged with warming music!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the photo of the sea Grace! I super need this now!
Nothing like a bit of live music to brighten the day - and it looks as though solo musicians playing outdoors are the only live music we'll be enjoying for a while. Looks more like a violin to me.
ReplyDelete...the music of a similar tune will help us get through this mess!
ReplyDeleteBeautitul, Grace. Street musicians generally add a nice bit to the day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely experience that must have been to hear the music, Grace!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds perfect! The setting, the music and the weather.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but after reading what you wrote, my brain started to waltz ... Blue Danube from Strauss! Isn't that ironic?
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day, Grace! 🤗
Oh that made me feel good! I play flutes and ocarinas and such and often play a tune in public.. . . not with the mask, of course. So along with my dazzling smile, I am deprived of that social-superpower as well. For now. Love you, Mate - er, Mon Ami
ReplyDeleteA perfect day for you, Grace. Music and roaming in the sun down by the water!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty new Fall header!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely!
ReplyDeleteHi Grace, I love the photo you took of me yesterday playing my violin with my special companion Melody by my side. I appreciated your kind words and your generosity. You are a very talented photographer! Anthea
ReplyDeleteI played the violin in school
ReplyDeleteIt's good people are behaving there, we are due to go into level 2 on Thursday, can't wait.
ReplyDeleteGreat scene Grace.
ReplyDeleteMust sounded very nice.
ReplyDeleteGrace! Some day Ingo will get at you cause I fell off my chair laughing and hurt myself!
ReplyDeleteYesterday. I kid you not! And I´ll give proof soon, I bought a clock. Set it to ring, different songs.
And Ingo went, "oh, Walzing Mathilda, great to wake up to that!"
We were in the Outback, 1999. A bus full of tourists arrived and the song blaring... Mathilda waltzed over us.
We had Weet-Bix with the driver for brekkie as the tourists went out and about.
Dettoil with baby oil is great against mozzies, he told us.
Thank you for the memories xox
The word "billabong" remembers me of our trip to Australia. It sounds in a way so funny to pronounce for us... like "buttocks bang". I know I am a silly one...:)
ReplyDeleteA walk in the fresh air and music too. What a great combination. I haven't been out yet this week to see how people here are doing.
ReplyDeleteHow sweet Grace, beautiful photos :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful takes, Grace.
