Isn't it ironic..

... that we spend a lot of time trying to catch a building or a specific scene without people getting in the way of the shot. I know I have waited for ages for traffic lights to change before clicking and yet without people some reflections can be a little lack lustre :) Above Barrack Street, one of two major cross-streets in Perth's central business district and one of the busiest streets in the city looking a bit sad reflected in the traffic mirror on the the old gates leading into Stirling Gardens. I think when things get back to whatever normal is in the near future I might enjoy taking more street photography shots, how about you? Happy weekend, take care and stay safe..

  1. I look forward to being able to walk down the streets and be relaxed and not worried about whether I have invaded someone's social space. Or seeing people head out onto the road to avoid someone else.

  3. I've never done street shots mostly I do do food inside and sometimes on the back deck. But I enjoy looking at the outside shots others take.

  4. Since I don't drive and we've been advised not to use public transport unless absolutely necessary, I find myself confined to my village at the moment. Although I love the countryside and nature I'm beginning to feel I need some urban chaos in my life!

  5. Grace, a wonderful reflection so indicative of this time of Pandemic. Our Main Street is often free of traffic.

  10. It's crazy. Sometimes I used to include cars, sometimes I waited for the scene to be empty. It will probably be the same going forward, but, forgetting photography, I am hoping for something close to normal as soon as possible and safe.

  11. It took me a while to figure it out, but yes, people in the shot usually make it much more interesting. Stay safe!

  16. Streets look so lonely without the traffic. Sometimes when we drive to the boardwalk, we are the only cars for miles.

  17. Any photo with a person in it is better than the same scene without a person.

  19. It has been crazy.

I'm trying to figure out how to take tulip shots under the current restrictions.

  20. It has been rather difficult to get street photography shots are the moment, hence lots of domesticity in my posts recently. It is beginning to change though, the roads are getting busier.
