Around and about Elizabeth Quay..

I can't remember the last time we strolled around Elizabeth Quay, it's been several weeks at least. Yesterday was the perfect late autumn day to do so, crisp temps and blue skies, parfait! Hope you don't mind an overload of pics.. making up for not posting yesterday :) Starting point at the Spanda sculpture, affectionately known as 'the paperclip'. Below heading around to the right towards the bridge. Still not many people out and about..

Below, not too shabby a spot to moor the yacht. The tall lemon scented gum trees along Fraser Avenue and the State War Memorial in Kings Park in the background to the left and the Narrows Bridge to the left in second shot..

Below a view of the South Perth foreshore from on the bridge, if you look closely you can see the numbat and frilled lizard shade canopies here and here..

Views into and out of the city below..

A last look back and then into the city. After all the time I spent trying to keep people out of my shots I'm very much looking forward to welcoming them back in :) Happy Thursday, take care and stay safe..

  3. Grace! I know very less about Perth when this year started aside from a few of my students now live there. Now through your blog, and Sami's and Iris's, it just makes me wanna visit Perth as soon as this virus is over. That bridge is such a beautiful structure! i would love to be in it and ask someone to take a photo of me from afar so the bridge will be seen! hahaa planning too early huh! Happy Thursday Grace!

  7. These are fantastic pics, Grace! And what a day you had for exploring the area a bit without worrying too much about social distancing. We are still sticking pretty close to home here!

  8. Beautiful shots of your city!

In answer to your question about my school year...we start the year the first week of August. We have a week long break in October and November. A two week break in December. A week long break in April and the school year is finished in the middle of May. The rest of our summer is for a break. Teachers (like me) work on a contract with a set number of hours we must be in school. Thus, we have been logging in some time this week, but glad to see each other and share lunch... while being socially distant :)

  14. Wow, Grace, Perth REALLY is empty!
Today we´ll only go out on our balcony.
Actually it´s forbitten, thanks to Corinna, but I bet there are groups of drunk Dads out and about on Father´s day... No, thank you, sun´ll be here, soon, 19C "already" :-)

  15. A lot to see here and the bridge is a real pleasure to demonstrate that the distance between A and B not always must be a straight line.

  17. Lovely! A gorgeous harbour area. I love all those crazy sculpture bridges. I wonder if I will ever get to visit Perth again. I think I told you, I have a cousin in Attadale and another living in Albany. Travel to anywhere except the local grocery store seems so remote right now.
