'The only thing you absolutely have to know is the way to the library'.. Albert Einstein.
Children and parents alike will be delighted when arriving at Karrinyup Public Library to see the newly painted murals here by multi talented contemporary Perth artist Peter Ryan whose work you have seen here many times. Titled 'Fishing for Dreams' it couldn't be in a better spot. I believe art shouldn't be locked away in galleries, it should be here, there and everywhere for all to enjoy :) Thank heavens for libraries also, they are a source of information and entertainment for those who still prefer to turn pages but might not be able to purchase on a whim. Hope you had/ are still having a good weekend, take care and stay safe..
Beautiful murals, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI think the library of the early 80´s in my small home town was bigger than the one we have here (been there last year, was very disappointed)...
So beautiful
ReplyDeleteSuch bright, colourful murals - I wish libraries were like that when I was a boy.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Unfortunately our libraries are still limited hours and occupancy. Those are the simple restrictions still in place.
ReplyDelete...fun, but I'm not sure that the libraries here are open.
ReplyDeleteThis mural is what I would call "magical". I love everything about it.
ReplyDeleteI love that mural, so very pretty with those colours. Our library is still closed but the other branches are opening up slowly. So we are hoping it won't be too much longer.
ReplyDeleteThese are so wonderful, Grace. Our libraries are only open for curbside pick-up. No entry yet.

ReplyDeleteThe adventure of reading beautifully portrayed. Thanks for the quote, G💋
ReplyDeleteWhat great looking murals. Our public library will deliver books curb side, but is mostly closed due to the pandemic.
ReplyDeleteThey are very colourful and bound to appeal to children. The way libraries have reinvented themselves in this digital age is great.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great murals! Very nice!

ReplyDeleteMy Librarian heart is beating for this.
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful! The colours and subject matter!
ReplyDeleteThat Einstein was quite smart! Lol.
Those colors! They are so beautiful Grace! I love the warmth I felt seeing those yellows and purples but that zeppelin one is so magical!
ReplyDeleteI love the childlike images. I'm sure children will love them, but I also find them fascinating and enjoyable, too. That's a great artist, Grace.
ReplyDeletethey are simply delightful. I love them.
ReplyDeleteThis artwork is just amazing. I can't really remember how or when I was first drawn to the library, but I've been going to the library since my young childhood and rode the bus nearly every Saturday in sixth grade all by myself. I've brought all my children and grandchildren to experience the wonders of libraries. It sticks to some and others well it's their loss!
ReplyDeleteThese are perfect for sending minds off on a flight of fancy.
