Happy Sunday..

Look who landed right in front of us as we got to the car after our visit to the Perth Observatory in Bickley on Thursday! Have to say I was pretty excited because although described as 'common' it was the first time I have seen a scarlet robin. What a pretty little bird it is, if you look a bit closer you will see the whiskers on it's chinny chin chin :) Then in a flurry of tiny wings it was off again 💓 Hope your Sunday is all you want it to be, take care and stay safe..

  1. He/she is a cutie, Grace! You can see a semblance to our robins with the red breast and shape of the body.

  6. The word got around that you would be in the area to take photos. First come, first served. A smart wee bird. :)

  9. Dearest Grace,
Indeed what a welcome surprise was waiting for your newly returned camera to be captured!
We don't have them here in the USA but similar robins in Europe, the Erithacus rubecula.
Thanks for sharing its beauty with us.
Today I'm very happy as I finally got to upload our books, the hardback and paperback, all 446 pages with covers. We publish with IngramSpark for worldwide reach with POD (Print On Demand) to lower the shipping costs for numerous countries. Our graphic designer just forwarded the pdf yesterday afternoon. Being dependent on somebody else makes time being added on at times but it has been worthwhile. She created the template for me to start typing 12 chapters in and she added the images and the line art (Pieter's drawings and such. Professionals do a great job!
We had just a heavy thunderstorm, much needed for our scorching lawn... A blessing from above one could say.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  13. What a beautiful bird! This is a new one to me and I love it. It reminds me that I need to go down and sit in the courtyard again to visit with my robins.

  15. Awesome. I love these little birds which sometimes visit our garden in winter time. But unlike you I am never fast enough with my camera to get a shot.
