You might remember this gorgeous sculpture by WA artist Denise Pepper sitting on the bank of the Swan River in Applecross. If you look carefully above you can see a faint outline of the city across the river in the reflection, below framed by the wings a slightly clearer view. Even on the greyest of days there is always colour to be found.. if you are looking :)
It is the perfect sculpture for a photo op.. below Aimee on a much sunnier day when it was one of the exhibitions in Sculpture by the Sea back in 2018. When I see pics like this I do hanker after those blue skies :) Happy weekend, take care and stay safe...
What a lovely sculpture. You can do a lot of photo opps with that one. Aimee looks like she just flew in and landed. :)
ReplyDeleteI do remember this sculpture. You have three great perspectives in your photos. Love the reflections shot, and always good to see Aimee in your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI certainly prefer the blue skies Grace. That sculpture is really pretty and it looks great in that setting in Applecross.
ReplyDelete...what a photo op!
ReplyDeleteIt is in a great location! Aimee looks happy with the blue skies!
ReplyDeleteThe art you show is always really cutting edge and engaging!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteIndeed, if you are looking, is a good phrase as beauty is always around us, even on the dreariest of days!
Love those wings, great concept.
Hugs,
Mariette
It is a beautiful frame for the city!
ReplyDeleteThat sculpture is perfect for photo ops but I see it's great for reflections too.
ReplyDeleteI guess the work now has a permanent home. It looks good in the setting.
ReplyDeleteLast one sure look fun photo
ReplyDeleteGrace … You are an angel! 🤷
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos!
Enjoy your weekend! 🤗
Lovely sculpture. Winter seems to be flying away quite quickly so sunny skies again soon.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the weather, it's still a strong picture.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! S has been there with me, too :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd now I crave an ice-cream, 24C here, sunny, Grace!
It is a striking sculpture in rain and sun, I like the last photo of your daughter with her wings!
ReplyDeleteI adore this sculpture. It's a wonderful work of art and in a perfect setting. Hope you are well.
ReplyDelete❤️
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice kind of artwork.
ReplyDeleteNice to photograph. Very funny!!
Greetings, Marco
Beautiful, and yes, a great photo op. The photo of Aimee made me smile!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous sculpture and fun reflections. I thought it was a lot bigger from the first photos. Funny what perspective can do.
ReplyDeleteA striking sculpture. The curves are so appealing, the nod to the Swan River so appropriate and the way it hugs the city in your photograph is perfect.
ReplyDeleteA sculpture made to be photographed.
That is beautiful and your photos are great. Have a good day Diane
ReplyDeletePlayful art is key and when you can add your daughter too better yet!
