Or a dreichit day as they say in Scotland, translated a wet, dreary, miserable day.. I hesitated to add the miserable because I don't feel that way about rainy days, I love them :) Definitely a day for the ducks and I have to say it was peaceful and most enjoyable standing under cover of the viewing platform on Lake Gwelup watching the Pacific black ducks preening in the pouring rain, ducking diving, emerging to flap the water off their wings. No sun today either but those blue skies will return soon enough :) Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
It felt like a real Winter's day today Grace.
ReplyDelete...I had to lookup the term drookit, thanks for increasing my vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteIt would be described as "Rawky" in my part of the world, but only by old people; it's one of those words that's rapidly disappearing.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking myself how nice some rain might be! Aloha, Dear
ReplyDeleteYou don’t get many of those days Grace. I can understand why you like them.
ReplyDeleteI find that kind of day quite miserable, Grace! I guess we get a lot more of them than you do.
ReplyDeleteThe last two days here have been exactly as you described. We're used to it. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteWell, each season has its specific function in mother nature.
The duck preening photos are great. That too is a task.
No matter how dim a day may look, time is passing rather quick...
Hugs and sunshine at the moment, last night all hell broke loose with such a tremendous downpour and thunder! All our kitties hid in the garage or else indoors.
Hugs,
Mariette
When we had very hot weather in April and May the rain was welcome, but generally I prefer hot. I like your header photo.
ReplyDeleteI love the close ups of the ducks.
ReplyDeleteMight not be a great day for humans, but a fine day for ducks.
ReplyDeleteI think the duck like a little rain.
ReplyDeleteCertainly looks like "Weather for ducks" Grace.
ReplyDeleteNice photos … but I'm tired of the rain!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Grace! 🤗
Uhhh, awwwww. Beautiful, Grace!
ReplyDeleteSunny here, some (irony) whopping 22C.
Funny word drookit, I would have expected droolkit to highlight the wet weather but your photo's kept that atmosphere very well.
ReplyDeleteWhere is sunny Autralia??
ReplyDeleteI don't like rainy days.
ReplyDeleteThat's because the camera gets wet and it is hard to clean afterwards.
But you are active! Oh, so good! ;) and one more ;)
My dad used to call that kind of weather "for the birds" and he was right. The birds love it. Since I don't see it very often, I love it too. I wish a few days of it would show up here.
ReplyDeleteNever heard either one of those words.. I too like rainy days.
ReplyDeleteDucks must preen regardless.
ReplyDeleteGrey always feels cold.
ReplyDeleteLove the collage of duckies!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful and also what my day here, although thunderstorms are coming as well!
