Just like the thousands of tourists who in normal times visit Kings Park I cannot resist a quick shot of the city each time. It almost feels like every click brings a change to the cityscape these days. By now you are used to seeing the Ritz-Carlton and The Towers centre stage above but look what popped into the frame off to the right, the Double Tree by Hilton. So many luxury hotel rooms so few no tourists to fill them.. and the building goes on! Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
Dearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteYes, one wonders about the near future in tourism.
Made a booking yesterday for a future stay with Hyatt Place, our favorite. Did call them to inquire if they open the pool. Yes, they told me, you have to use your own judgement in keeping social distance. Asking about their hot-bar for breakfast. No, due to COVID-19 we only offer now a grab and go breakfast. You may eat it at one of our tables and we do clean up after you... but they offer very limited items.
How hard it is for a number of people that have to travel!
Making an appointment with Apple is nearly impossible, all their stores are closed for quite a while. So I had to make this arrangement, they offer some locations for going for repair/checkup. Who would EVER have thought about such a lifestyle?!
Love you picture, a nice overview of a lovely city skyline.
Hugs,
Mariette
...a beautiful skyline! None of us will be travelling safely for quite awhile.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful skyline that seems to change a lot. Glad you keep an eye on it, Grace.
ReplyDeleteWhen this is finally over, I'm going to be so ready to head somewhere to explore. Those hotels are looking pretty darn appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of empty hotel rooms in the world these days. Toronto is hosting half of the hockey teams in the NHL and they are in a bubble in 2 big hotels downtown while they play a tournament that lasts for about a month so at least those places are making some money. There are very few planes flying overhead these days.
ReplyDeleteAye! Continuing here in Honolulu as well!
ReplyDeleteSuch an impressive looking downtown. I love those arches
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool cityscape! The spiral and the arches in front of the reflective glass architecture really jazz it up a lot.
ReplyDeleteIt is a strange world we live in. Great view.
ReplyDeleteNot a place we´ll stay for the night, Grace ;-) Good ole cabin will have to do! Oh, boy, will I recognise Perth next time (whenver that might be).
ReplyDeleteHello Grace,
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture of this city. You are right about the new hotels.
You see that more and more hotels are being built and the cityscape is becoming more and more commercial and the cities are losing their own culture. That's all over the world.
Greetings, Marco
It looks almost like New York...
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous seaside skyline this is dear Grace! I am so amazed by the amount of sculptures and landmarks that Perth has, goes to show how art is of utmost importance to your culture there! Love it! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe do have a pretty cityscape Grace. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteI like that view.
ReplyDeleteYes, I see the cranes in the back and so the building goes on. Huge in contrast to our little town with no more than a double story building! Cheers have a good week Diane
ReplyDeleteThat's what gets me about cities ... constant change but even in the country we see a little bit of change now and then.
