Hands Off Point Peron!

Last weekend before we visited Penguin Island (post here), we climbed up to see the views from the 'K' Battery complex at Cape Peron. It's higher than it looks here, I was wheezing like an old set of bagpipes by the time we got to the top :) Military enthusiasts can read the history of 'K' Battery here.  The view was absolutely worth the climb and I'm happy to say that plans for a marina and housing development here were scrapped.. way to go 'Hands off Point Peron' another victory for people power, read about it here 👍 Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  7. A good decision. Along with its history, it looks quite rugged.

I wonder how soldiers felt there, were they able to enjoy the view at times, too...

  10. One thing about being an island/country/continent all in one, Australia has plenty of beautiful shoreline. May it always remain as beautiful as it still is today.

  11. Looks like a great place to visit. Good the developer was nixed. Hopefully the preservationists will prevail and the site will remain a great place to see those wonderful ocean views. BTW the 'pipes are my favorite instrument.

  14. Too many beautiful places get covered over with extravagantly pricey houses...and don't forget the shopping centers, golf courses, and other accouterments. What a gorgeous spot!
