The two birds on the top of my wish list to snap are the Tawny Frogmouth and the Splendid Fairy Wren. In February last year I was was thrilled to get close up to the Tawny Frogmouth here, and although there are many beautiful images of the Splendid Fairy Wren out there, the two shots here are the sum total of my success.. so far! Below, eight years ago.. there was no time to focus just a quick click and it was off.. the shot above three weeks ago. When the male is looking for a mate in the breeding season, his feathers turn iridescent blue, the colour above is straight out of the camera.. bit of a show off isn't he :) What's on top of your wish list to snap a pic of? Happy new week, take care and stay safe..
...such a fabulous blue!

Divagar Sobre Tudo um Pouco
Oh wow Grace, what a pretty bird!
ReplyDeletehe's lovely, such a vibrant blue.
ReplyDeleteWhat a truly handsome bird. I don't know what kind of luck he's having with the lady birds but he certainly would capture my attention. I'd love to get a good photo of a bald eagle. That would make my day.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful little fella, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThe blue is amazing. You must have been Uber quick to get these shots Grace.
ReplyDeleteHe is wonderful, even showier than the blue wrens over here. I love to get shots of any bird I have not captured before I I think perhaps an eagle down on land rather then flying impossibly high in the sky and a lyre bird with his tail feathers up dancing would be nice to capture.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou have become a very talented bird photographer Grace, so blue!
ReplyDeleteFabulous you have caught the colours so well. Have a good week, Diane
ReplyDeleteSuch an amazing blue colour :)
ReplyDeleteStunning! I'd be thrilled to get these shots. Many of our male hummingbirds have iridescent feathers (reds and greens) and our barn swallows have bright blue feathers. A lazuli bunting is about as close as I've come to a bird this showy blue.
