The free motorbike parking spot here is two minutes from the park I showed yesterday, so I'm guessing that at least twice a day that spot might not be so serene 😉 Parking here on Mounts Bay road it's only a ten minute walk into the city.. a bit of exercise before work and no parking fees sounds like a good deal. I wish I had had a closer look to see if there were surveillance cameras, let's hope so! I believe Melbourne is the only Australian capital city to allow motorcycle parking on the footpath, although maybe not for long. What are the motorbike parking facilities in your city/town like? Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
Right now it's park your motorbike in storage for the winter. Some parking garages and lots have designated spaces for motorbikes.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of motor bikes parked along there. I don't think we have a special facilities for parking motor bikes. They just have to fit in with the cars.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a herd of bikes. Probably very noisy if they all got started at once. No bikes around here in the winter, conditions are far too arctic. But at the first sign of a sunny spring day the bikers will get their trusty steeds out of storage and roar off into the sunset.
ReplyDeleteEna tantas, uma bela concentração, aproveito para desejar a continuação de uma boa semana.

That is a lot of bikes. Here they just park wherever there is space among the cars.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the mix of motorcycles parked in Perth. There is even an American Harley. Motorbike parking is available everywhere here during the riding season, but it is a small town. The only place that charges for parking is the University.
ReplyDeleteHere they used to be able to park on the edges of sidewalks but that was changed last year and now they must be parked on the road like a car! Or in a parking lot!
ReplyDelete...lots of 'easy riders!'
ReplyDeleteLots of bikes, something to drool over
ReplyDeleteAh! Back to my biker days. From 16 to. . . I think I may be done on two wheels, as I've promised my husband. he stopped riding at 65 or so. We both used our bikes daily for transport rain or shine for a quarter century in Hawaii. . .rain and shine!
ReplyDeleteWe do not see many motor bikes around but most car parks have a small area marked off especially for bikes. Have a happy day Diane.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of bikes! I'm guessing motorcycle riding is not quite a popular here in my area. I can't recall seeing such a large congregation of bikes, and dedicated parking spots are rare.
ReplyDeleteThere isn’t any special parking here for motorcycles. That’s a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of motorbikes! Cycles are more of a seasonal thing here since it gets cold and wet. But come summertime there are a lot of people out touring.
ReplyDeleteI love that concept and, yes, hopefully there are cameras, Grace.
ReplyDeleteHere you can park such a thing where a car could park. Because you pay for any vehicle. And some even do, also here in the ring area, where parking spaces are rare :-( But never and with such a face, right :-)
It would be great fun to bike, park, and walk to the city on such a beautiful day.

Our little Colorado town is in a huge dispute over the fact that they are now allowing atv’s or off road vehicles into town. Wish they had a parking lot where they were required to park and walk into town.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what the rules are. Long ago SC had a motorbike with me on the back. I found it scary, all that noise around you and that bowing over to the sides when taking a corner. He even had a crash once, without me, lucky me! After that he sold it.
ReplyDeleteIt is good when they have their own space. It's annoying to find what looks like an elusive empty car parking spot to discover as you are about to turn in that is it occupied by a motor bike.
ReplyDeleteThere is a stretch of road where I live popular with bikers. It ends at a cafe and that place is always filled with hundreds of motorcycles. You can't really drive very fast on that curvy road so there are usually a few horrible accidents there each year.
ReplyDeleteGoodness me … so many motor bikes.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures.
All the best Jan
Wow. A whole of rumbling is gonna take place. Soon. Very. Soon!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you way over west are aware of the absurd situation here. The Motorbike Writer article is interesting and gives some history, thanks.
