'Yesterday and tomorrow cross on the skyline'..

I've always loved seeing images of city skylines. After brunch in the city yesterday in Brookfield Place looking up at the skyline here along St Georges Terrace from this angle struck me as being a look through the ages. From the 18/1900's through to the present time. I like the mix, I prefer the mix. Whereas below looking straight up the 2000's, while impressively reaching for the sky, could do with a wee bit of softening from a bygone era don't you think! Hope you had/are having a super weekend, it was a wet one here in Perth, my favourite kind :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

  1. I do agree. I like a mix of styles too. I love it when a visionary architect is able to meld to the two so that they blend beautifully.

  2. I do love the "Perth-mix" very much, as you know, Grace :-)
We mostly only have "islands" of old OR new. Not very creative!
Still Sunday over here, Ingo made me chicken on the BBQ - yum (I did the spices).

  7. Love these shots you always take them for such interesting angles.
We thankfully had 20mm of rain yesterday and a sprinkling today so it meant no garden to water :-) Hope you have a great week Diane
P.S. How is your cough? I am still much the same despite the cortisone and nebuliser!!!

  8. The first photo is so nicely balanced in more ways than one.

  9. Your second photo does have a dramatic perspective, but I could not agree with you more about the softening provided by more traditional city buildings. So you first photo has more balance and appeal.

  10. That first shot is such a winner. It illustrates your point perfectly. The second shot is a great perspective but yes, kind of brutalist.

  18. Last year, I felt we got really lucky when we found out these wedding venues NYC available on the date we wanted - and now I know just how lucky we were! I can't recommend this place enough! I have nothing but positive things to say about this place.
