Spotted along the coast yesterday at Watermans Beach ten minutes from home. Freshly finished by Secret Harbour artist Samantha Prentice @ Mural Creations a Splash of Colour is a curated public art series by the Water Corporation, the aim being to 'enhance and transform everyday water and wastewater infra-structure into public art pieces'. Nippa-n-Snippa look super happy to be by the beach and I'm 100% certain that they will bring a smile to all who jog, walk or ride by. Looking forward to discovering more! Check out those skies, love them :) Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..
P..s. Couldn't resist matching up the mural horizon with the real thing.. come on, you would have done that too right :)
Terrific final shot, and quite whimsical art.
ReplyDeleteThere's been a move here in the last couple of years to decorate utility boxes like this in various ways. I really should photograph some of them.
...it looks right at home along the beach!
ReplyDeleteLove the crabs, they do look happy!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Very nice Grace. It's nice to turn infra-structure into art.
ReplyDelete:)) ! ew
ReplyDeleteI love how skillfully you showed this to advantage, G!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute little crabs!
ReplyDeleteLove the crabs but I am impressed with your matching up of the horizons, my brain would never have though of that!! Well done. Let me know about your CT results. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteIt is perfect in that location, Grace! We are at +32˚C and humid today and really sunny so it is definitely summer for us!
ReplyDeleteA happy work, and appealing to children I think.
ReplyDeleteLovely art on this utility box. These two crabs should bring a smile. Love the way you lines up the horizon with the art work.
ReplyDeleteThose crabs are super. Not an oft repeated comment!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that I just saw a bunch of people catching crabs which they then proceeded to eat. And now I see these "happy crabs." Hmmm...if they knew what was really happening in crabdom, would they still be happy crabs? Just asking. :) I do love that last shot. You're very creative. And no, a lot of us would not have thought to do that. You're a very special photog!
ReplyDeleteso cute :)
ReplyDeleteThose two would be great for tooth paste commerical.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
I'm sure they will bring a smile to everyone that walks past Grace.
ReplyDeleteHopefully all utility boxes will get the mural treatment.
I'll be happy to meet up after the 18th, J is home this week for our citizenship ceremony on Wednesday and I have 2 colleagues away so working every day too, might go to Sydney a few days the week of the 11th.
Love those skies?!? Seems like we have ones like that at least part of every day. Nippa-'n-Snippa are very cute...make me feel guilty for looking forward to crab season starting in a month or so...
ReplyDeleteLovely :) Nice pics
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh... was my first (biiiig smile cause they look so happy).
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh... was my second (the sky!!!! Such a promise of rain!)
Another ohhh, and then a YEP, well done, Grace (horizon-match, it´s a must!) :-)
Very cute. So cute that I am not going to tell you what snippa means in Swedish.
ReplyDeleteWould they really be so happy? They end in some bioler....
ReplyDeleteMade me smile! Great to see such a fun simple image in public art, they're usually so serious.
ReplyDeleteSponge bob square pants comes to mind here
ReplyDeleteGreat capture, as always, Gracie. x
ReplyDeleteWhat cute little critters! They have the perfect location to enjoy the view.
ReplyDeleteThey are a happy sight, but it's hard to keep my attention off such a beautiful landscape!
