Quotes from two architects 'less is more' from the other 'less is a bore'.. vive la différence! On another 7.6km walk yesterday morning, I know right.. well done me :) from home to the beach and back we pass through the beach-side suburb of Sorrento. So many beautiful homes. The two very different styles here caught my eye and to be honest I can't decide which I like best. Love the Mediterranean feel of the home above and the beach is just two minutes away, but at the same time the sculpted lines of the more modernist home below, seen from both sides, really appeals. What do you think? Happy Friday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. I was lucky to get a post up today, electricity poles being replaced in my suburb caused major disruption, big catch up tomorrow..
The first one suits me more.
ReplyDeleteTres Moderne! Do I see a California tile roof like mine own, G?
ReplyDeleteGoodness, I can't decide either. I think I'll go with the Mediterranean. I've always been fond of that that style. These are sure some gorgeous places.
ReplyDeleteThe second one is more my style but the first one looks so comfortable so I'm torn!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful. The first one looks like it is in Florida. Second looks roomier.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn’t be able to decide. That was a good walk, PDP.
ReplyDelete...the Mediterranean style is nice and so are the modern ones.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the first one at all. The second is ok.
ReplyDeleteyes I like the first ones, we have houses like those here and the 2nd ones remind me of concrete boxes, still I guess that's modernism these days.
ReplyDeleteI like the first one, it looks more homey.
ReplyDeleteThey are both nice but I'd vote for the first one. It's got a sense of warmth about it and very inviting steps.
ReplyDeleteThe top one for me, the steps do give a more homely feel.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Friday and a great weekend.
All the best Jan
mmm this is difficult. Normally I'm a traditionalist but I do like the look of the modern one.
ReplyDeleteNot a second to think, Grace. May be the hint of the two minutes to the beach, too? Nah , either way: Top pic!
ReplyDeleteSaying, munching away on tomato-basil cheese and real Italian Mortadella :-)
I never in my life (well, apart from travels) had a lack of electricity!
I like the modern house...'
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I don't like on the second designs is that the 3d modeling stops at the roof and that gives sometimes the impression of a very busy box.
ReplyDeleteDifficult choice, all have their own charme...
ReplyDeleteI'll take the modern house Grace!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I am mad about any of them for myself. I love our traditional stone French housethat is 200 + years old :-) Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteBelas vivendas, gosto do estilo moderno.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

I think I'll go with the Mediterranean...
ReplyDeleteI like the first one because it's older. Also the third one because of it's colors.
ReplyDeleteThe "minimal" house seems to have several bits of unnecessary planes. Hard to justify embellishments that don't either beautify or serve a purpose.
ReplyDeleteNo there sure isn't but that's what makes so many interesting designs!
ReplyDeleteI like the first one best.
