In every job that must be done
there is an element of fun.
You find the fun and SNAP
the job's a game!
In Wolfe Lane to find Mary Poppins by artist JXD, see more of his work about town here, I almost missed her. I was expecting something a little bigger but should have realised she would be flying off to her next gig :) lovely touch of whimsy to the lane, who doesn't love MP! p.s. look what she pulled out of her carpet bag :)
On a larger and more colourful scale, on the exterior of the Paramount Night Club, corner of Roe and Lake Streets in Northbridge, an extensive piece by one of my favourite Perth artists Anya Brock whose work you have seen here many times. Budgies, toucans, parrots, flamingos.. super fab! It's not always easy to find fun on a Monday, well it's actually Tuesday here in Perth, but sometimes you can and in the most unexpected places :) Take care and stay safe..
I like the tiny Mary Poppins. And the nightclub art is also very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteThat Mary Poppins mural is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThat second mural's enormous, and quite colourful.
ReplyDeleteMiss Poppins, of course, happens to have total disregard for the laws of physics.
I like them both! It would be fun to search for more MP around town!
ReplyDeleteI love Mary Poppins! Great photos, what a fun post this was.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant colors and I do love Mary Poppins. Happy New Years, Grace.
ReplyDeleteOz family living in China visited us over Christmas - divine to see them but I can see they miss Australia loads.
What fun, colorful captures for the day, Grace! I, too, love the Mary Poppins mural!! Hope your week is off to a great start!! Enjoy!

Nice pics.... It's always a great pleasure to visit your blog.... Have a nice new year... Arnaud
ReplyDeleteHeel mooi het is prachtig zulke muren met graffiti maar het moet ook weer niet te opdringerig zijn.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely adore those colours!
ReplyDelete.. and every task you undertake, becomes a piece of cake... Thanks Grace. Now I'm going to be humming the spoonful of sugar all evening!
It kinda looks like Mary Poppins got a weapon in her right hand! Beautiful colors, so much artwork in Perth! Can´t wait, Grace :-)
ReplyDeleteThe little bit of whimsy on the stairs is magical. The mural works well with the angles of the building walls. Colourfully attractive.
ReplyDeleteSNAP! :-)
ReplyDeleteWow you find the best murals. We watched the doco about P.L.Travers the author of Mary Poppins. She was a strange lady.
ReplyDeleteThose big colorful murals are fantastic! But I must admit that I have a special love for Mary P. !:o)
ReplyDeleteI do love Mary Poppins. This painting made me think of that movie "Saving Mr. Banks" which I enjoyed so very much.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved Mary Poppins and can remember being a kid and sitting in the theatre and watching it over and over again. They don't allow that anymore, but it sure was fun! Wonderful finds Grace. The birds are magnificent!
ReplyDeleteWell rounded Poppins gal! LOL. You are awesome day by day, G!

Interesting that Mary Poppins is shown carrying an AK-47 assault rifle. With her magical powers I didn't think she needed firearms. Great find.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. I prefer the second one.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great riot of colour on what would otherwise be very drab walls.
ReplyDeleteHow cool to see Mary Poppins floating along, but those birds blow me away. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteI guess Mary Poppins is finding it a teensy bit harder working her wonders in or modern world. Best laugh of the day. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteOops, should read "our" modern world.
DeleteLove Anya Brock's work, it's so bright!
ReplyDeleteWish that Mary Poppins was a bit bigger... There was a documentary on TV about the "real" Mary Poppins (the Australian author) a couple of days ago.
She looks perfect floating along that stairway Grace.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to go looking for this Mary Poppins when I go back to work next week :) xxx
ReplyDeleteLove Mary Poppins, and almost missed the AK-47 :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice murals. I especially like Mary Poppins. Not politically correct (at least to the gun grabbers) makes is great!
ReplyDeleteOh my, you have a lot of murals in Perth! I always have to look carfully for them.
ReplyDeleteI like Mary Poppins a lot! The murals are quite colorful and beautiful - very modern! What a city!
ReplyDeleteoh i love the little mary poppins! did you see saving mr banks? great movie!
ReplyDeleteWait a minute! Is that Lowell from Central Florida? Sure looks like his swagger with the umbrella!
ReplyDeleteI'm partial to the birds. Happy New Year, Grace!
