To burger or not to burger that is the question....!

It's said that everyone craves a burger now and then.. if ever I do it's a 'simply Grill'd'. When founder Simon Crowe, opened his first shop he set out to create a 'healthy' burger, there's no 'upsizing' here.. well you don't really need it do you :) Now there are over 51 Grill'd's around Australia and sometimes when Aimee and I are in the city we have lunch at the Brookfield Place Grill'd on St. George's Terrace. Usually I have the burger and salad without the bun in an effort to save calories, on Sunday I threw caution to the wind and had the 'real deal' and now I fear there is no turning back, it was délicieux snuggled there in it's toasted panini bap! It still won't happen too often :) What about you, do you crave a burger now and then or is it a case of sacre bleu no way!! Have a fab Thursday, take care.....The November 1 theme for City Daily Photo bloggers is "Heights."

  1. Well, Grace, after having seen these pics, I sure do crave a burger, non? ;-)
In fact cause we were on the run we had one from Mc D on the run. Yikes, not yummy!
How come this one is healthy, what´s special about it?

  2. The one good thing about getting old is I've lost my passion for burgers!! Just why I don't know, but it makes watching my diet a lot easier these days!! Hope your week is going well!! Enjoy -- with or without burgers!!!

  3. Prefer a bacon butty but yes would have a decent burger but probably not from McD or any chain and more than likely I'd have it cut in half and share one with my wife rather than eating a whole one.

  7. My preference is the cheaper fish and chip shop burger but Grill'd are quite good.

  8. Now that I've read Andrew's comment, I want a chippy. Looks like I'll have to settle for a hamburger, I have to say it looks very good and I love that first pic!

  9. Oh yes, I do crave a burger every now and then and like you I have my favorite places to go to get one. There is a place in Scottsdale that serves a burger au poivre. It is my all time favorite.

  10. That first shot is a stunner, Grace - the fire hose makes a great contrast to the B&W. Never heard of Grill'd, but a food chain selling something palatable sounds like a great marketing idea.

  11. That looks like what I make at home only we don't have fresh tomatoes now so I thin slice some onions. Anyway I don't know how some of the burger places can get meat so thin, probably use some giant burger press.

  12. That sounds tasty--I used to love burgers, but for some reason now that I'm older, I don't eat much meat at all. But I would try this one!

  15. I just saw an advertisement on TV suggesting that people eat fewer burgers. It's a rare treat for us. I'd try this place - looks like cousin Simon did a good job.

  16. Oh, I do, but it's relatively rare, and I prefer a good burger, as opposed to something from the fast food chains. This one looks good!

  17. The older I have got the less luxurious a burger appears to be. I have gotten sick to the stomach of McDonalds, for example. But now and again, on occasion, if there is a good burger around, I'll take it!

  23. Don't eat if fat, eat if slim.
    You can eat surely?

  24. I don't think I have eaten a burger in years, don't really miss it though. Maybe if I tried the ones above would be another matter! Being gluten intolerant I also try not to eat too much of the stuff that will make me feel unwell. I will have to try one without the bun then!

  25. I never eat a burger, I don't like the soft bread and the peace of hot meat between it, brrrrr. I prefer crispy fresh bread with cheese!

  26. Two burgers each year is ok for me,
I like the first photo with the red plate.

  27. Love the selective colouring in the first shot.

  28. That looks soooooo good! My favorite food, of course. If ever I make it back to Oz, this spot is on the list. Love the shots.

  29. Occasionally I crave a burger. But when the craving hits, nothing else will do. (The burger must have beetroot and onion.) And the meat must not be dry or else it will be even longer before the craving strikes again. This burger looks brilliant. Not too stacked high to wrap the jaws round.
