Although the wind is howling outside my window as I type this post I took these shots just a few days ago when at Hillarys Boat Harbour five minutes from home. Now into the second month of winter we are certainly getting a lot of rain but in-between there are many many moments like this. Did I mention that when construction of the boat harbour began back in 1985 protestors lay down in front of the bulldozers to halt progress and now it is one of Perth's most popular destinations, makes me smile when I think of it :) Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. Are you wondering if I was one of the protestors lying down in front of the bulldozers :)
Quite tranquil now.
ReplyDeleteWere you?
Some people just want to protest. A fine Winter view.
ReplyDeleteWinter is looking mighty fine!
ReplyDelete...what a beautiful sight!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your having our summer there, nice harbour
ReplyDeleteThat is the blue we have come to expect from Perth. Looks gorgeous, Grace.
ReplyDeleteNice harbor.
ReplyDeleteGrace, always enjoy seeing your photos of harbors and sailboats. Great reflections and fine light.
ReplyDeleteI assumed the boat harbour was a renovated former facility, but it seems not. It has an interesting and at times troubled history. Perhaps it should be called Blue Water Harbour.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous place, Grace!
ReplyDeleteYou read my mind. If you were..have you changed your mind. Pretty place.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't look too bad, as winters go.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Grace - was the ground hard lying there?
ReplyDeleteObviously, glad Hillarys is there - have a Grill´d on me, please.
Here sadly protesters lost, too - park is gone and a fake castle with boring shops replaced it... No rain here, just grey, 16C. Summer???
One can envisage more unpleasant winters. Having both good weather and the necessary rain is ideal, isn't it? Here I hope that the summer will spare us a heat wave
ReplyDeleteWow, it looks very inviting for boats to come there. BtW your winter looks very much like our summer...:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections Grace. I am sure you would protest for the right cause Grace but lying down in front of a bulldozer seems a tad risky.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see this view in the winter myself!
ReplyDeleteBelas e refrescantes fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

ReplyDeleteP.S. I sure wanna hear some Franglaise next time! Si´l te plait... Sorry, but quatre-vingt-dix-neuf always comes to my mind when this language pops up
ReplyDeleteHenry is on Ingo´s hospital-toothbrush. "Corinna", I cannot send Ingo to hospital without protection, right...
I don't doubt that you were lying in front of the bulldozers. But, it sure looks fantastic now.
ReplyDeleteThese are three fantastic photos from the harbor. They make me wish I was standing there.
ReplyDeleteSo much blue in the photos! Love them!
ReplyDeleteMuch the same here except we have another polar blast coming this week.
ReplyDeleteCan hardly believe people would protest because of a Marina. And it's so popular now 😊
ReplyDeleteYes I’m wondering if you did?! Such a stunning harbor rich blues!
ReplyDeleteWonderful article. Fascinating to read. I love to read such an excellent article. Thanks! It has made my task more and extra easy. Keep rocking.
