Standing out from the crowd..

Handling.. 4 stars
Performance 3 stars
Usability 4 stars
Feelgood factor 5 stars.. that says it all 😉

I must admit I never notice cars when we are driving around and about. P will sometimes say 'look at that Jag or that Ferrari etc.  eh, they don't impress me in the slightest, if I had that much money to spend I wouldn't spend it on a car when there is so much fabulous art around :) But I do love looking at vintage cars, so much more style and character like the, I'm going to say Citroen Traction Avant here, am I right? Have a look at THIS, oh I would definitely be tempted by this, how about you? Happy Tuesday, take care and stay safe..

  2. Grace, your car identification is right on the money. I would argue that the Traction Avant is the first truly modern car. It used a monocoque design (the body was the chassis), is front wheel drive, it has rack and pinion steering, sits low to the ground because of no frame or driveshaft tunnel, and looks great even today. They were introduced in 1934 and remained in production until 1957 when the DS (another advanced car) was introduced. Citroen built millions of them and many are still on the road because they were well constructed.

  3. Oh, Grace, I haven´t driven a car since like forever. This looks "cool"!
I loved our Moped. She was LOUD! A nice and gentle loud. Built 1977/78, aw, she was a beauty.

My ex had a Holden. Screaming 70´s orange. Huge steering wheel. I loved to drive this car. The gear "thingy" nearly up to my ear (OK, kidding, but it was huge).

    Back then cars were art.
These days? Am I glad I have no Baby. Ambulance & Co are SO DARN LOUD cause cars these days are designed differently. You don´t hear anything inside hence ambulance has to be extra-loud. Have a baby, it gets a shock (I can cover my ears quickly).

Maybe the olden days were golden after all. And made more sense...

  4. Did you know that they are offering tours of Paris in such a car, and if you had four people paying it is very reasonable.

  5. Dearest Grace,
Haha, no those vintage and/or antique cars are fine for any collector but for the fun of driving a good new model is far better. Looking for high tech and great output.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  9. I'm in your camp! I rode through the 1990s and 2000s on a 1973 BMW motorcycle. While staying in California for those few years recently, we drove a 1986 Mercedes with great pleasure. Of course right now, I'm using car sharing to borrow a Prius when needed. Nothing beats not owning a car at all! I'm with you I love my art.
