Sometimes not deep enough! Going down the stairwell on a visit to Watertown last week I came unexpectedly face to face with one of the most feared of all ocean creatures. A clue might have been the beautifully executed mural on the lift shaft at the top of the stairs. Now that my hamstring is back in shape I never take lifts when there are stairs available, if I had I would have missed the incredibly lifelike shark mural, both painted by WA muralist and portrait artist Susan Respinger whose work you have seen here before. I missed the much friendlier whale shark HERE (did that link work?) at the Wellington Street entrance to WT. Hope you had/are still having a good weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe..

My, my...that shark is astounding. What a talent to be able to create something that looks so real. My first thought looking at that photo, I thought you visited an aquarium.
ReplyDeleteThe shark is amazing, it looks so real. The octopus looks like it will grab anyone who wants to ride the elevator. Great looking murals, Grace.

ReplyDeleteSo that's funny, you had the same idea with Sami. It's certainly the most beautiful lift I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteThat shark just wants a scratch under the chin.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to sharks, that's quite real enough for me! An incredible artist.
ReplyDeleteImpressive work.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are hoofing it again! I love the art you share.
ReplyDeleteI thought the shark was in a tank at first look.
ReplyDeleteIt seems Watertown is very popular. I may be a little reluctant to use that lift.
ReplyDelete...fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteLol, we've posted the same murals Grace. That shark in the window looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYes, I had to laugh, too, you both share the murals today, Grace 🤣
ReplyDeleteIsn´t that just wonderful?
Oh, P.S. Henry is for you today.
ReplyDeleteFishing in the same pond wit Sami? Never mind, they are all beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSimplesmente fantástico.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

ReplyDeleteCheers
Those are wonderful murals. The shark is so lifelike. While I would not want to see one while swimming, it looks fine in the mural. I've always been impressed by Octopus. Did you know that each of their eight arms has an independent brain?
ReplyDeleteLove those ocean creatures, not sure what I'd do if I came face to face with the shark though.
ReplyDeleteWow, it's always a treat to see such lovely artwork! What an amazing place, thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteWonderful murals :)
