I'm sure it goes up and down like the stock market but I have only ever seen the drawbridge, the bascule bridge at Hillarys Boat Harbour open once in all the times we have been there and as the harbour is less than five minutes from home you can guess how many times that is.. twice yesterday :) Took these shots early yesterday morning after coffee with P on the perfect winters day..
... and this one later in the evening when I went back with Aimee to take some reflection shots for her latest photographic challenge, both times, early morning and evening it was deliciously chilly enough for jackets. Hope you had/are still having a super weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
How wonderful to be so close to the water like this. I like both the daytime and the nighttime versions.
ReplyDeleteThe daytime and nighttime versions are lovely. What a pretty bridge, Grace, it looks grand.
ReplyDeleteNice shots Grace. It would be nice to see that bridge opened.
ReplyDeleteThe blues of your winter captivate me, Grace.
ReplyDelete...and everything is blue and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful views.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how necessary such an expensive mechanism is when it is used so rarely. Great that you caught it open.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteExcellent photos of the Bascule bridge.
You sure got perfect winter weather with blue skies.
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful pics
ReplyDeleteThat bridge looks like an interesting contraption (that's a good old-fashioned word I haven't used in a long time!). That night-time shot is particularly appealing.
ReplyDeleteUh-oh. I ... never noticed that bridge!
ReplyDeleteI feel ashamed. Like really. Where do my eyes go?
Great shots, though, Grace - oh, I need to learn to look!
Uma sequência de belas fotografias.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e boa semana.

Applause for your last photo by night as for your bridge photo. Both very nice. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAn unusual bridge not much in use I see.
ReplyDeleteA pretty spot, especially at night.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that bridge opened up at all. Great night photo
ReplyDeleteIt does look like a lovely day! Both day and night shots are so beautiful, Grace!
ReplyDeleteA very modern looking bridge. I really love the last shot - the light reflection and the moon make it really special.
ReplyDeleteJust completely enjoy the water, and of course my favorite color is any shade of blue! Beautiful captures. You are so lucky living there!
