What is it about naked trees anyway?

They are gorgeous and here in WA the naked trees are sometimes the only sign that we are actually in winter. I never tire of  this sight, in every season but particularly so in winter, when walking through Central Park into the gardens on the corner of Hay and William St. The tall trees without their foliage to blur their delicate, yet enduring framework of skeleton branches. A glimpse through to the steeple of the Wesley Uniting Church on the corner, the pale blue wintry sky above.. love it! Have a wonderful weekend, see you on Monday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Nice photo, Grace. The trees give the background a nice touch of haze.

  2. When the leaves are gone you get the chance to see things that are hidden most of the year. Nice one, Grace.

  7. Dearest Grace,
Trees have beauty all seasons and their bark often is gorgeous to be viewed when bare.
Love the way that you can see beyond as in spring and summer and part of autumn things are hidden from our eye...
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  9. The structure of trees without leaves is so basic. It is a powerful form.

  10. What a poetic text you have written. We have the opposite here all green trees now with sunshine and sometimes some rain...:)

  11. Here bare trees are associated with the short, grey days of winter and it takes a little more effort to perceive the beauty. They are much appreciated by bird-watchers though, making the birds much easier to find.
