I was as surprised to come across the King down a lane off Angove Street in North Perth as I was to find the Beatles here.. some legends never die! I'm guessing everyone knows the expression 'Elvis has left the building'.. well maybe not everyone 😉 The mural is based on a famous photo of Elvis and was painted in 2017 by Perth mural artist and illustrator Paul Deej. Look at that grey sky, thank heavens for colourful street art to brighten things up. Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
...Elvis hasn't left the building!
ReplyDeleteI think well executed street art is terrific, so much better than boring old brick walls. Not so keen on the tag type graffiti though. Poor old Elvis.... wonder what he would be doing now if he was still around. He would be 84 years old!
ReplyDeleteI know that Richard III was found buried in a car park in Leicester, but I didn't think you'd find a King buried up to his chest in a car park in Australia. No wonder he looks so sad.
ReplyDeleteelvis is glued to the building !!! the picture is nice. Have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteRock'n'roll! :)) ew
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, I will be an Elvis fan forever. Take care Diane
ReplyDeleteElvis continues to be a music icon. I have no idea why, but his image evokes an emotional reaction. Good find on this mural.
ReplyDeleteYou found him. great find!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous find! The mural is beautifully painted.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to brighten up a bland building and Elvis, no less.
ReplyDeleteWhen he was young and cool! Good one, Grace!
ReplyDeleteNicely done - crown and all. I wish he'd aged better. We might have enjoyed his music longer.
ReplyDeleteLike the guitar setting in back ground.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
This is a beautiful painting of the King!
ReplyDeleteIt's good and like the way his hair and lips have done.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant ark work.
ReplyDeleteI´m not a fan of Elvis but I agree, Grace, it brightens up the grey day - sunny over here, btw, finally!!
ReplyDeleteUma bela homenagem ao Elvis, aproveito para desejar uma boa semana.
