The weather was perfect for photos yesterday, rain, sun, rain, sun.. you know what I mean, lovely light. Into the city we went. Thrilled at the sight of rain drops on the window I took a few pics on the way down St Georges Terrace. The autumn/winter trees along Murray Street looked so pretty bejeweled by raindrops.. camera up, click NO BATTERY! No probs swap over to the spare.. if only it were there! Such a nightmare when the light is especially gorgeous and no battery. I could have used my phone but that's not an option I enjoy. Don't you hate it when that happens, I was so fed up with myself I had to have coffee and a cream cake to compensate 😉 Will do better tomorrow :) Happy Monday, take care and stay safe..
Nice rain / city images.
ReplyDeleteMany of my fully manual film cameras will work rain or shine, and require no battery except for metering which is quite easy to guesstimate when a battery dies.
I usually carry several fully charged spares. High capacity spares for the OM-D line are quite in expensive on Amazon.
I usually carry a couple of spares, but of course I learned that lesson the hard way after several experiences like yours. The two rainy images are good though.
ReplyDeleteSuch great photos in the rain! If coffee and cream cake are the compensation for a forgotten battery, I will remember to forget mine!

ReplyDeleteCheers
I hope you enjoyed the cake!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a delicious save to the day!
ReplyDeleteNo battery equals a piece of cake. Funny how you found that out. :)
ReplyDeleteNice rainy shots through the window!
You needed a piece of cake to settle the nerves, Grace!
ReplyDelete...I always carry two spare batteries!
ReplyDeleteOh dear. It should have been lukewarm weak tea and a plain biscuit as self punishment.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had much rain but to my surprise we got a inch.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Lovely captures! Using the phone cam is not bad at all!
ReplyDeleteHead slap moment deserving of cake. You've reminded me...I'm not sure I've put my spare back into my purse.
ReplyDeleteYou still managed some nice pictures Grace. I've got 2 spare batteries now as I was always forgetting to recharge...
ReplyDeleteAs you know I love the rain and yes!!! I understand! I hate when that happens with the battery! Ingo has a backup - but he never takes his camera (or the backup), assuming I do the job!
ReplyDeleteStill have its charm.
ReplyDeleteBut at least we see the rain! I always have spare one in my bag...
ReplyDeletewow beautiful clicks.
ReplyDeleteHa ha. That happened to me once at the end of a longish bush walk and I had even left the phone in the car ... and no hope of cake to compensate.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, that has happened to me a few times. In fact, the day before I left for Italy, I went looking for my spare battery and couldn't find it anywhere. Then I realized I had never purchase a spare battery for this newer camera. Thankfully, I didn't need one. I remembered to recharge every night.
ReplyDeleteNicely atmospheric
ReplyDeleteOh, they are Nice!
