Second wettest February day ever..

It has always fascinated me the way the temperature here in Perth, and I'm sure in many other parts of the world, can change so dramatically from one day to the next. You may have seen on the news that Perth has had 114mm of rain fall in the last 24 hours, just 6mm short of the wettest day EVER for this time of year in February 1992. The rainfall for the whole of February last year was .06mm.. I know right, anyone who denies climate change is in denial :) I took these shots yesterday in-between showers at Hillarys Boat Harbour. While I love the extra rainfall and stormy weather it couldn't have come at a worse time for all the activities going on around Perth at the moment.. there's no challenging the weather gods! Happy weekend, take care and stay safe...

  1. It feels like we are in the middle of winter right now!
It's a pity that all those outdoor activities have to be cancelled...
And in the meantime Sydney, Canberra, etc are having a heatwave, it's crazy!

  2. Is this why sometimes people say folks in Perth are "all wet"? :) Love the shots! Love these shots! Love boats, water, marinas, reflections. Fantastic!

  3. Wow, that is nearly 4.5 inches. I am sure there is flooding with that much rain. A harbor might be the safest place to be as everything floats. Fine photos.

Weather can be strange. Wednesday was sunny and 17° celsius and Thursday was -4° and snowing. :-)

  12. N. California too has had an amazing atmospheric river (or two!) dumping monsoons upon us, flooding roads, causing dramatic landslides and tree falls. Today is sunny with blue skies and I'm as MESMERIZED as any Trade Wind day in Hawaii after similar rainy period :)

  14. Heavy rain definitely puts the damper on all sorts of outdoor summer activities. Right now we are having snow, quite a storm that will go on till tomorrow, when we will begin to dog out!

  15. Soon our rain will come and wash away all of snow.

  19. The water does look lovely. As for the unusual amount of rainfall... well, the water from melting glaciers has to go somewhere!
