Thunderbirds are go!

We're getting to the pointy end of 'climatic tolerance' :) here in Perth where it's officially autumn but the weather gods aren't keeping up with the program.. 25C doesn't seem all that hot but with humidity at 85%  it's uncomfortable! Check out our week ahead and you'll see the 'h' level is well over 50% for most of the week..  j'aime pas! The stylish couple above are making the most of the sunshine cruising down the West Coast Highway in their vintage pink Thunderbird.. anyone know the year? So weird to see the driver on the wrong side of the vehicle :) Hope you had/are still having a good weekend, happy Monday, take care and stay safe... p.s. yes I did use a bit of Lomo-ish on these pics!

  1. Great looking Thunderbird.
Weather there seems quite a bit like FL, Presently about the same temperature and humidity, 80F here.

  2. Ah, love those old Thunderbirds!! Don't see many of those any more!! Our weather is very mild -- temperature-wise, but it has been raining without stopping for almost 30 hours!! The grass and flowers love it, but I could surely use a little sun and sidewalks without BIG puddles everywhere!! Ah, well, the gray makes a great background for all the colorful flowers so I'll stop whining, it's surely better than freezing cold!! Have a great new week, Grace!! Oh, I am enjoying Aimees blog so much -- she definitely takes after her Mom with camera in hand!!!

  3. I think it is a '57, Grace! I'm sure TFG will be able to tell you for sure when he checks in. We are up to +3˚C at 12:30 noon here.

  5. I see early T birds once in awhile but they mainly live in garages of old rich guys.

  6. This is the car I wanted to get for Collin (his nickname is T-Bird)!

  8. It is definitely a '57. I love those T-birds. If I had one, I'd be terrified to drive it on public roads... especially when people are driving on the wrong side !

  11. Pretty sure it's a '57 too. As for the driver, well he's on the "correct" side don't ya know? Looks like they are driving along San Vicente Blvd in LA.

    You silly twisted girl...

  14. I'd say that a vintage T-Bird and WA were a marriage made in heaven.

  15. Look at those fins and the color!

  16. Always wanted an early Thunderbird. Believe Red Pat is right. This is a 1957 car. The tail fins give away the year. This is a perfect car for enjoying a breeze on a warm day.

  17. Hi Grace, I'm still on hiatus but saw this post. Taken for Granted is right. It's a 1957. Lois Anne and I bought a demo 1957 Ford Fairlane in 1958 with those exact tail fins. Our car turned out to be a lemon, though! :(

  18. They were tiny then, weren't they? Not must bigger than my cantankerous first car, a Triumph TR 4a.

  19. It is very odd to see a left hand drive vehicle on the road especially when it is as eye catching as this one Grace.

  20. They made beautiful classic cars in those days. Swap your weeks weather for ours (UK) My daughter sometimes sends screen shots of the weather forecast just to torment us!! :-)

  21. What do you mean wrong side of the car?? :-) It does make me wonder how that beautiful car made it's way all the way down under.
85% humidity?? Yikes, that is intolerable at those temperatures. Stay cool!

  22. Dad had one in the driveway... aqua in color as I remember.

  23. Beautiful old car, and see the car plate!

  24. And gone I am, Grace! If you hadn´t mentioned, I hadn´t noticed the steering wheel being on the "wrong" side - first day of driving for me again today, all went well :-)
As a pedestrian I still am a tad unsure, though! Left, right, what?!
Sadly no sun here, so the Koala has to wait btw.
