Do you remember how excited I was a while back when I was lucky enough to catch a pair of male kangaroos having an early morning spar.. that's them above. P went off a few days ago in search of some video footage for his music and shot this early morning activity going on amongst a group of kangaroos at Pinnaroo. Watch it here and see how full of energy the young joeys are when they awake, so cute to see them bounding around.. and around! Towards the end of the video I'm sure, like me you will be astounded to see, in action, how tall the males are when they stand on their hind legs and begin sparring. I hope you enjoy.. happy Sunday, take care...

They are something, when they hop around they remind me of our deer bounding off but they stand so tall and seem more intelligent than deer. Just the same I'm glad I don't have to build fence to keep them out of the corn patch. He did a good job with the video! A rainy and foggy Saturday here.
ReplyDeleteThey are amazing animals!
ReplyDeleteOK, Grace, the video has your photo beat. Both are good. Amazing how it looks like one will trr to antagonize the other and when there is no response starts in on his own. I never realized how tall a kangeroo gets. All we have in Florida is alligators.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOh, how wonderful! Love it.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics and video, Grace, awww :-)
ReplyDeleteAre they kissing, or fighting... The posture on both pictures are so different ! Great choice for the week.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! A little kick-boxing going on to.
ReplyDeleteEstupenda la foto.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
Amazing. What a delight.
ReplyDeleteCute animals, amazing photos and amazing video, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThanks for these nice shots. Wish you a good Sunday, dear Grace.
ReplyDeleteTo this non-Australian, Kangaroos are bizarre and interesting animals!!! I can't imagine their evolutionary path!!!
ReplyDeleteAh fantastic photos -they are so tall!- and the video was a great moment! Loved it. I wonder if I'll dream of kangaroos tonight!
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the shots where everyone in the foreground is quietly grazing and one of the guys keeps zooming past in the background! This video sure shows a pecking order, Grace.
ReplyDeleteThe video is very good. What antics and I loved the stage intruders bounding past all the time. To this Australian, kangaroos are just bizare.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to spend a Sunday morning watching roos...or koalas...
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the antics of the kangaroos, thank you. You have many beautiful photos and interesting bits of information on your blog.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a friendship dance; couldn't download the video.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! Loved it all - I want the CD of the music!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all about togetherness.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great video !
ReplyDeleteInteressantes Video und schöne Bilder.

Super shots and a great video. They do grow tall when in sparring mode.
ReplyDeleteAnimals always look a bit like humans when they stand on two leggs. Sparring guys.
ReplyDeleteThat video was so much fun and these are great shots you have here. Such interesting and amusing animals.
ReplyDeletese qu ils sont beaux !
ReplyDeleteWell, at least you didn't catch them mating.
ReplyDeleteThat made me laugh Mark, I have caught them 'at it' but didn't quite know how that would go down on the blog :)
DeleteI watched the video. They don't look real. They have vestigial arms and loooonnnnggg legs. Are you sure an animator didn't draw them up?
ReplyDeleteFabulous images, Grace!
ReplyDeleteBoy, you wouldn't want to get into a fight with these guys. It would be a roo awakening!
ReplyDeleteNice couple of kangaroos! Arianna
