The world has seen this past week just how unforgiving the waters can be in the remote waters off the coast of WA. We have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world but deep out into the southern ocean "the seas are wild and rough, there are huge swells and the winds are extreme, they are called the Roaring Forties for very good reasons". I'm sure relatives of those aboard the missing Malaysian flight are still praying for a miracle.. I find myself hoping for one also. I'm glad it's Friday, how about you? Take care and stay safe....
Eloquent photo, Cheri! Enjoy your weekend in the globes hippest little city ♥
ReplyDeleteAloha
Haven't gotten to Friday yet. Still working on Thursday here. :-) I'm just hoping the search crews get a stretch of good weather soon.
ReplyDeleteA dramatic shot, Grace. From what I've seen in the news, that southern part of the world's oceans is the worst spot on earth to try to recover something like the black box of a plane.
ReplyDeleteLove the mood in this image. From the clouds to the water. I also like the different tones of blue in the shot.

I do agree with William, Grace! A dramatic shot indeed! The news is SO sad and the photos/ videos of those waiting for info regarding their loved ones is heart wrenching!! Yes, I'll be glad to see this week end! You stay safe and take care, too.
ReplyDeleteBoa tarde,
ReplyDeletelamentavelmente o avião e as pessoas foram engolidos pelo mar, o mar é a força da natureza com grande movimento.

I, too, am praying for a miracle, Grace. Your photo shows those of us in the Northern Hemisphere just what search crews are up against....
ReplyDeletebeautiful and dramatic shot...i can't imagine how the family and friends have been getting through this not knowing...
ReplyDeleteHallo Grace, nice photo, here is still Thursday, but Friday is coming soon...
ReplyDeleteyes, we had a great hope, but recent events... are not really giving us plenty of hope... we will see , have a good week end , saluti cari dall'Italia.
It's still thursday here but close enough to friday for me. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteNature can be very cruel but beautiful as well. You also have a good weekend. Diane
ReplyDeleteNature reminds us that she's the boss. We are mere ants.
ReplyDeleteNot Friday yet! :-)
A horror for the families, Grace!
ReplyDeleteTerrible indeed.
ReplyDeleteGood picture however.
Against all odds I too hope still for a miracle Grace! Joy x
ReplyDeleteThe power of the sea is a wondrous and terrible thing. You've captured a hint of it in this beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteFor the families I too am hoping for some sort of miracle. So very very sad.
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful weekend grace.
Sorry, Grace, that is too much of a miracle to hope for.
ReplyDeleteSo, are you getting to sleep earlier and feeling better rested?
Great photo. Now look at the ocean and imagine much higher waves and what the searchers are facing a bit to your West.
ReplyDeleteThe photo is an excellent illustration of your point. The sea is turbulent and ominous. Lots of boats finding nothing.
ReplyDeleteGlad it's Friday? One of the slogans at Crowe & Shanahan is, "Thank God it's Friday. Only two more work days till Monday."
The seas can be so cruel. I also think it is too much of a miracle to hope for, but I do hope there are some answers, somehow.
ReplyDeleteI just wish them peace. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to see a photo other than a picture perfect blue sea. I know, I know. You have probably been waiting for a year to get such a photo.
ReplyDeleteLovely picture of the turbulent seas! I hope the black boxes are found so that the families can be told what happened!
ReplyDeleteWho would have thought that such a tragedy as MH370 would occur and that the southern ocean would play a part. I pray for a miracle too Grace.
ReplyDeleteA very sad state of affairs. Unfortunately, we may never know what happened. Flying in a commercial airliner is extremely safe, but when something does happen, that fact makes it seem even worse.
ReplyDeleteBon weekend, Grace.
ReplyDeleteCool shot !!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend........
People all over the world..... have followed the news about the missing plane.
ReplyDeleteI will remember the scream from the Chinese woman for a long long time.... and I can imagine a bit of the pain, frustration and anger. I work at the airport here at Stavanger, place where we see so many happy moments and so many sad situations. I am going out soon, two days off work now. The SUN is shining and we have a nice time of the year in front of us. HAPPY WEEKEND to you and yours!
A telling picture.
ReplyDeleteAmazing shot.. i like this shot

Thanks for your visit to my astrology post today; sorry, but I don't think I captured your sign (art work too high for me to photo properly plus the New Mexico sun is difficult for photography during the day! I hope also that there might be some good news about this mysterious Maylasian airline flight, but I have very dim hopes. Your photo is not encouraging for sea rescue. Hope that you have a good week-end.
ReplyDeleteSo sad no debriss has still found so far. It seems it has disappeared completely. Hope they will continue with searching.
ReplyDeleteI keep hoping that they will finally find something that lets everyone know what really happened to that unfortunate flight. But when they describe how rough the seas and winds are, it makes me wonder if they will ever be able to find it.
ReplyDeleteYes, Grace, not knowing must be awful.
ReplyDeleteOh, I jate flying for a reason...
That rough ocean is a contrast to the smooth Pacific «Louis» caught yesterday...
ReplyDelete«Louis» is of the opinion that the Malaysian Airlines plane is safe on the ground in Pakistan...
This is a strange and disturbing story.
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Such a mystery...I hope we learn what happened soon...Happy weekend!!!
