The last shots from Sculpture by the Sea in Cottesloe. Shaped in stainless steel by Italian artist Silvia Tuccimei titled 'passage secret' this work 'references the mirror as a symbol for a gateway or portal, absorbing, reflecting and distorting it's surroundings'. As it sits gleaming on the grassy slopes of Cottesloe Beach it seems to me that 'le passage secret' is honouring all of these promises! As Tuccimei has worked for many years in Paris it would not surprise me if mes amis français were already familiar with her art! I may have to take time-out for a few days, the forecast is for cooler temperatures so will take the opportunity to tame my out of control summer

That's entirely different... and a whole lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI like this one!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful, completely original reflections.
ReplyDeleteThe sculpture is quite estonishing !
ReplyDeleteI like the first pic... This smile is worth all the gold in the world !
Seems like an entrance to a secret world, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThe top photo is really nice and unique!
ReplyDeleteThe entrance to a secret world indeed, Grace!! Terrific captures as always!! Hope you have a great weekend!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteVery good effects in the mirror! Arianna
ReplyDeleteLooks like a portal to another universe!
ReplyDeleteGrande belleza! I like this idea of a door to something magic !
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week-end in your garden, dear Gracie!
Really fantastic photos.
ReplyDeleteThe art work is beautiful and reminds me of the Chicago bean which has that mirror effect. What is that round circle of red on the beach?
ReplyDeleteThe reflections on the giant curved surface are fantastic - such a simple idea, yet so creative. Warm wishes from another Aussie who loves France
ReplyDeleteNext year I suggest you enter your pictures, alongside a pretentious explanation, and you will win hands down as you have more talent than these 'artists!'
ReplyDeleteYou were right! That field looks much more impressive like this and I love its reflection!
ReplyDeleteLots of color and things to look at in that first photo. Hello Aimee!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the reflections! I could play with that all day long.

I love the way you framed those colors in the top, and that lovely smile! Perth is art heaven, sigh. Good luck with the taming! (I so enjoyed 'Julie and Julia'! Meryl Streep is fantastic)
ReplyDeleteThat's a new take on reflections. It is quite attractive and I'd guess a lot of fun for folks walking by.
ReplyDeleteDon't work too hard in your jungle or garden!
Nice piece. Must be tough to keep it shiny out there.
ReplyDeleteArt . . . Aimee . . . reflections? Could you fit any more into one post?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jack - perfect shot of Aimee reflected!!
ReplyDeleteI love the reflections in this one!
ReplyDeleteThis "mirror" was also one of my favourites, it would be very cool to have something like this in the garden!
ReplyDeleteOriginal and impressive. I'd like to spend half an hour photographing that.
ReplyDeleteVery captivating pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat reflections . Its amazing how an artist every time finds a new way to express her/his ideas on a new way. Thanks for showing.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely reflections, I enjoyed the exhibition very much.
ReplyDeleteThis reflects well on the photographer !
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic work! I hope these pieces of public art find homes after this showing.
ReplyDeleteI love this piece and the way it reflects its environment.
ReplyDeleteBrings to mind the stainless bean in Chicago...great for reflections.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your break..and go dig in your garden
I like the decorated beach and the reflection in the sculpture is great. Happy weekend to you too:)
ReplyDeleteVery nice reflections ... so bright !
ReplyDeleteI like the circle within a circle of the top shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shiny shapes capturing the colours and light play surrounding. That would mean no photographer would capture the same image. How clever.
ReplyDeleteIs the orange and red bit on the beach a separate work? If so, the two work together well. On the other hand, I don't appreciate the photo bomber, as we call them here, in the first picture.
ReplyDeletePreciosas las fotos que nos has dejado.
ReplyDeleteSaludos.
I enjoyed them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat a final, Italian :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Grace, for sharing - it sure is a great happening!
An eye-catching and photogenic work!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shots you clever girl !! :)
ReplyDeleteThat stainless sculpture is quite nice in the way it picks up reflections!
