Thunder crashes.
Lightening flashes.
Rain makes puddles,
I make splashes.

Anon described exactly how it was yesterday morning when I awoke.. it was the first rain in four months causing havoc on summer dry roads and dusty electricity lines, but you know what, it was fabulous! The smell of first rain is as heady as the best French perfume and although it was short and sweet there could be more to come over the weekend.. I live in hope! Have a wonderful weekend, take care and stay safe... click for more Weekend Reflections. p.s. I know these are pretty tame reflections but they are wonderful to moi :)
A lovely shot, Grace. And you needed the rain!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect shot for the day, Grace!! I do know how excited you are to FINALLY have rain -- even a little rain!! Here's hoping for more! Have a great weekend and I do indeed hope you get to play in the rain!!
ReplyDeleteMust feel wonderfull to have rain after so long dry weather. The smell is awsum then.
ReplyDeleteGood news, indeed!
ReplyDeleteWe recently had our first rain in months. I TOTALLY agree with you about the smells. Like you, we need a lot more. That was nice little spot in your photo.
ReplyDeleteFantastic rare reflection :). Enjoy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am on a little break. Perth is in the news here daily (ref plane search). Hard to believe that there is so much ocean off your shores.
I understand that feeling completely. It is exhilarating after all that dryness. Your allusion to perfume is perfect !
ReplyDeleteYour happiness shines through this post, Grace! ;-)
ReplyDeleteLiving in the southern dry part of my country, I understand you soooooooooo well !
ReplyDeleteI wish you a nice week-end, dear Gracie!
The plants and even the little statue look pleased to have some rain too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear Grace! you finally got some wet stuff. We're enjoying some here too! and it has cooled the temperature down beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! That first rain is always nice.
ReplyDeleteFine bit of dampness in your photo. May the rains come slow and steady. Thanks for your comment on my blog today.
ReplyDeleteI know the smell, we are to get more rain and maybe snow here but will probably be wanting rain in a few months.
ReplyDeleteSome people in colder and wetter countries will not understand the pleasure we take from rain after a long spell of dryness. Steady rain rather than flooding rain though, please.
ReplyDelete... better than snow. Poem or not.
ReplyDeleteAh, the smell of newly fallen rain. Very refreshing, It won't be long until we get daily thiundershowers and storms here.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflections to me Grace, and you are so fortunate to have such a downpour - we didn't have the storm - yet! Isn't it amazing how refreshed in body and mind we feel after the first good rains! Joy x
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much we appreciate something when we suffered from the lack of it! Beautiful shot. And someone told me you weren't all wet! Sheesh!
ReplyDeleteIt is a very pretty image and there is enough reflection to satisfy me, Grace. Go get wet!
ReplyDeleteI can't imaging four months without rain. Las Vegas and Phoenix don't go four months without rain. If I were in your city I'd want to run around in it til I dropped.
ReplyDeleteYou had rain?!! Bypassed Yanchep - not a drop. Have a good one. X
ReplyDeleteI wish Mother Nature would give us a bath too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were drenched in blessing! The smell - yes, Ahhhh!
ReplyDeleteYour joy is palpable and contagious; thanks

What a lovely, joyful and refreshing feeling this capture conveys! I hope you got to glory in all that splish splashy goodness:)
ReplyDeleteWhen I first moved to the mountains I loved the fact that instead of rain, we had snow...it was so quiet and delicate (at least most of the time!) and you could go out in it without an umbrella or getting particularly wet. But I found myself mesmerized by the rain the last time we were visiting the southland and it rained...go figure...
ReplyDeleteI love your reflection. Its so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThere has to be really dry, if it has not rained in 4 months. I can not imagine the kind here in Finland. I also think the rain smells (especially the summer rain).
Glorious image. I love the earthy smell of the first rains too !
ReplyDeleteGlad you're having such a pretty wet moment!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice place. I like the big plants too.
ReplyDelete(Looks like Stavanger, apart from the colorful plant OUTSIDE.
We had SNOW and rain earlier today:)
Beautiful rain reflections… I hope you get plenty to quench the soil.
ReplyDeleteGood reflection shot
ReplyDeleteAmazing rain reflection ... Beautiful flowers...
ReplyDeleteA nice but dangerous reflection ! Be careful not to slip !
ReplyDeletelovely reminders when buried under heaps of snow!
ReplyDeleteyes, Grace, that ltittle rhyme says it all - awww, do I miss a summer-shower with lightening, too.
ReplyDeleteSo far only cold Spring over here, though...
