Eleven times brave.....!
The theme for CDP'ers on this first day of March is 'people on the street'. I confess that despite making it my New Years resolution.. that and losing 5 kgs :) to become more confident in approaching likely 'candidates' and ask the question, I still get apprehensive and in some cases just can't do it, but looking back at posts since the beginning of the year I have been brave eleven times.. and that's not counting the 'photo-napping' or the Southern Elephant Seal nicknamed Stephen Sealberg :) getting better! Taken at the Japan Festival on Sunday the young girls above were more than happy to pose for me. It'll take some time to get as confident as Jack or Stefan but it's a start! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, take care..... To see more 'people on the street' from around the world Click here.....

A terrific shot, Grace! They look very dynamic.
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! They all look so cute and innocent in their various costumes. It's amazing but most people are happy to pose for the camera if they're asked nicely. Photos like this warm the cockles of my heart! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, yes!!! I agree with everything that Lowell has written!! Cute and innocent indeed!! And I know you'll have so much fun, too!! Enjoy your weekend, Grace!!

ReplyDeleteVery colorfull bet they have a great time
ReplyDeleteThrowback to the fifties!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're still more confident than I am, I fear! But I think these guys actually wanted to be photographed. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I find myself a bit too timid as well. But my resolution this year is to change that. You are off to a good start this year. This is a wonderful group portrait.
ReplyDeleteIm as shy as you are. I regret it , because I often see very interesting people ..
ReplyDeleteThis picture is very joyful!
Have a nice week-end !
They do look like right out of a manga! Brave you, I still don't do it! Love the fun and how this makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteI guess people dressed like this expect to have their photo taken. It came out rather well.
ReplyDeleteOh, Grace, so funny! I looked for something work-related stuff today and found the reports from grade 1-4 of my school-years, It says in grade one I was "very shy".. great on you to ask people, non? Gotta try and follow your footsteps (in some... time...).
ReplyDeleteA great pic as a reward for your bravery! Nice capture.
ReplyDeleteI've heard Australia is home to some of the world's friendliest, most upbeat people. Your photos pretty much confirm that, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute grouping, Grace. (These young women didn't dress up like this to be invisible . . . )
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine you being hesitant to approach strangers my Dear! This is excellent. Keep at it , it gets easier and easier.

Oh nice one, love their look-at-me outfits, every one! It seems street portrait photography would be something that comes naturally to you:)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I loved that Calder MoMA work you shared, so lucky you had that piece traveling to your neck of woods!
ReplyDeleteShowstopping.
ReplyDeleteYes, just like Japanese cartoon women. A little outside of the Crowe family value system. If I ever get to Perth we'll go out for a walk and I'll show you how to get people to let you take their pictures. And it won't all be because of my cute American accent.
ReplyDeleteI've seen BC work. He's good.
DeletePerfect choice for theme day.
ReplyDeleteok i love this and i'm so glad that i'm not the only one afraid to ask people if i can take their picture! jack is the master!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Grace. Though in fairness these young women don't look too fearsome or unapproachable!
ReplyDeleteDon't they look cute! So colorful!
ReplyDeleteI am with you Grace...I am having to work on it too,....janey
It is an excellent photo, I never dare to ask, I just snap them on the street with a zoom. I like them more as a snaphot and not posing.
ReplyDeleteWhat great "happy"outfits. There seems to be a touch of retro happening there.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun shot!
ReplyDeleteThis may be my favorite CDP photo for theme day. So much fun! Are you or do you know the person who takes the Perth Weather photos? They are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you asked them for a picture Grace because this is a wonderful shot! I love all the outfits and their facial expressions are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThese girls are all so cute. I would have stopped to get a photo of them too and I'm worse about doing that than you are. I love the polka dot dress with the strawberry handbag.
ReplyDeleteYou’ve made a great Theme Day post. I'm glad you picked this to share with us. I'm a big fan of sights like this, people out enjoying themselves at a special event.
ReplyDeleteThey are darling! Lovely photo...worth the asking. You got a great result :).
ReplyDeleteThey look like a very happy bunch Grace. How nice the agreed to have their photo taken. Bon Vivant J.
