What a difference three years makes..

Apart from it being a beautiful library to visit one of the reasons we did visit the City of Perth Library last week was to take pics of the same view that I had taken three years ago. I was so happy to see that although The Towers loom high on the riverfront, it looks like most of the magnificent trees escaped in the construction. From this angle at least they soften the view. What do you think, the 2019 view above or the 2016 view below? Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..

  1. Hmmm...I can't decide. I think I'll go for the 2016 version. I am glad that one big tall tree is still there.

  3. While the towers don't really spoil the view, they don't improve it much either! The trees look good though.

  4. The towers don't really have a huge effect but I think I agree that the view with just trees is nicer, Grace!

  5. Interesting to compare the two photos. The new towers are not intrusive from this perspective. It seems that the same white SUV is parked on the street in both pictures.

  6. I prefer the earlier version too. I'm glad the trees made the transition and weren't cut down.

  9. You can see it two ways. Its our glorious future with grow or somebody spoiled our view on the horizon.

  11. The new view could be worse. I guess that's my vote for 2016.

  12. Trees make a huge difference, softening the look of the high rises.

  13. The Bell Tower dominates in the old photo along with the pine. Now, I had to look for them.

  14. I'm glad the trees remain and that the Bells Tower is still there, although a bit dwarfed.

  17. The 20019 high rise looks like it is just waiting to be joined by more, and more, and more construction....

  20. I guess I get the need for newer, bigger, better but I prefer the old and unique and historic.
