Apart from it being a beautiful library to visit one of the reasons we did visit the City of Perth Library last week was to take pics of the same view that I had taken three years ago. I was so happy to see that although The Towers loom high on the riverfront, it looks like most of the magnificent trees escaped in the construction. From this angle at least they soften the view. What do you think, the 2019 view above or the 2016 view below? Happy Wednesday, take care and stay safe..
I think I prefer the before version.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I can't decide. I think I'll go for the 2016 version. I am glad that one big tall tree is still there.
ReplyDelete...trees will always get my vote.
ReplyDeleteWhile the towers don't really spoil the view, they don't improve it much either! The trees look good though.
ReplyDeleteThe towers don't really have a huge effect but I think I agree that the view with just trees is nicer, Grace!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to compare the two photos. The new towers are not intrusive from this perspective. It seems that the same white SUV is parked on the street in both pictures.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the earlier version too. I'm glad the trees made the transition and weren't cut down.
ReplyDeleteWe have quite a history together don't we, we happy blogging family!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, and such full beauty they've become and are still growing!
ReplyDeleteYou can see it two ways. Its our glorious future with grow or somebody spoiled our view on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteVery special to see the different of these both pictures.
ReplyDeleteSo special to see the new buildings which are made in 3 years, Nice pictures.
Best regards,
Marco
The new view could be worse. I guess that's my vote for 2016.
ReplyDeleteTrees make a huge difference, softening the look of the high rises.
ReplyDeleteThe Bell Tower dominates in the old photo along with the pine. Now, I had to look for them.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the trees remain and that the Bells Tower is still there, although a bit dwarfed.
ReplyDeleteNice pics.
ReplyDeleteYou might be surprised, Grace, but 2019 it is!
ReplyDeleteNice to see the Ascalon, too :-) I always admire this.
Gosto desta mistura de estilos arquitectónicos e aproveito para desejar a continuação de uma boa semana.

The 20019 high rise looks like it is just waiting to be joined by more, and more, and more construction....

I am glad they kept the trees in place, it makes the view softer indeed.
ReplyDeleteThe newer version looks neater :)
ReplyDeleteI guess I get the need for newer, bigger, better but I prefer the old and unique and historic.
