Or 'baby it's cold outside' :) Last night as the storm raged outside we gathered for an impromptu dinner at Hillarys Boat Harbour and were wonderfully entertained by the WA Nukes, a 'recreational ukulele group made up from all walks of life.' When the weather permits they play alfresco but when as wild as it was last night they play in the Over Board Cafe. On arriving I thought the group consisted of a few 'up-in-front' players but looking around nearly every second person in the room was strummin' and a'singin'. It's true what they say 'there's not much you can do with a ukulele that doesn't sound happy' 😊 Have a super weekend, take care and stay safe..
That sounds like fun Grace. Much better indoors for sure with all this rain and wind! Have a lovely weekend :)
ReplyDelete...a wet and wonderful image!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun Grace. I wonder how it compares to a bit of pickin' & grinnin' with a bunch of impromptu Bluegrass people. There's probably no shine (good old moonshine) with a group of ukulele players.
ReplyDeleteIt has become a popular pastime here too, Grace! I know several people who are taking ukelele lessons and they love it! That weather looks miserable!
ReplyDeleteI love all the colours in the wet and beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been wonderful. And happy!
ReplyDeletenight and rain,great! ew :)
ReplyDeleteHawaii's gift to the world. One of them. Based on a Portuguese instrument
ReplyDeleteWonderful light reflections!
ReplyDeleteSeems the ukulele is making a come back! I hear of them more and more lately.
I do like that first view, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been huge fun, I wish I had been there with you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend a stormy evening. You are in from the cold and can go home with a smile.
ReplyDeleteLooks/sounds like fun. I don't think I have heard one played in person, before.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful night view!
ReplyDeleteI am feeling happy like as some ukulele songs. ;)
That sounds like so much fun! I love the colors and lights in your first shot.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun. I know there are unfair? ukulele jokes around, as there are banjo jokes.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to photograph music, but you managed to do just that. Love that night shot with all the reflections.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors in the rain !
I like it.

1st pic amazing.
ReplyDeleteLoved the post.
Happy Weekend.
That's a wonderful nighttime reflection, Grace. The uke is making a worldwide comeback it seems. There are some astonishing players on YouTube (check out Taimane Gardner, James Hill or Jake Shimabukuro).
ReplyDeleteAwww, beautiful with the water and the lights, Grace.
ReplyDeleteI think I never heard a ukulele!
Right now we´re making Aussie pies :-)
Pretty glistening reflection. I know what you mean about a uke ...my husband plays one.
ReplyDeleteA fine improvised evening. You were fortunate to find yourself in the middle of it. (Nice night photo.)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great night time photo! I also like your header photo.
ReplyDeleteJ'aime bien ta bannière :)
ReplyDeleteMy nieces and nephews tell me Yukes are very popular now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun place to be!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love the first photograph.
