When we first arrived in Perth many years ago my SIL Sue and I spent a fair bit of time in Madlilys Espresso drinking coffee and people watching in London Court.. those were the days before work and children :) These days we are usually rushing through London Court from St Georges Terrace back into the city. After reading the brilliant reviews re the coffee we will definitely have to slow down and smell the coffee beans roasting the next time we're in the city. You can tell by the pull-along suitcases and backpacks that London Court, described as 'a piece of pastiche' is a popular tourist spot, lots of quirky wee shops. Happy Friday, take care and stay safe..
Shakespeare looks more pleasant than King Henry, who seems furious. But then again, Henry was never the same after that accident in the prime of his life. Which probably explains a whole lot about everything he did.

Mmmm I can almost smell the coffee, great photos. Diane
ReplyDelete...I like the old tudor style.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the area, Grace!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a fun spot.
ReplyDeleteI never thought I'd see Mock Tudor in Perth. Must be rather disconcerting to have H VIII glaring at you while drinking your coffee.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Harry Potter could have a magic shop along this street. Lovely street photo.
ReplyDeleteAnother enticing spot in Perth. What a great place for a stroll and some window shopping.
ReplyDeleteHenry on the window is great!
ReplyDeleteIt's a very attractive prime tourist spot.
ReplyDeleteI can see why this is a great place to watch people.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics
ReplyDeleteCoffee is probably one of my favorite smells. Followed by the flavor of a good cuppa. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteHaven't been through London Court for ages. Always a popular place with my overseas visitors.
ReplyDeleteAt the kiosk we sometimes have our smartriders charged :-)
ReplyDelete(Do you say charge for that? Loaded?)
I am sure Henry VIII would have approved of his portrait being on show in London Court. I can see him gulping a coffee with his banquet.
ReplyDeleteI went there when I was in Perth and liked it.
ReplyDeleteI think Claude de Bernales has reached his purpose. Indeed a cozy part of town even if it is not old.
ReplyDeleteGosto destas ruas comerciais.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.

ReplyDeleteCan't believe those London Court coffee shop days were so long ago, Gracie... seems like yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLooks a good place to visit.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
What a great area! I love to people watch too, and it's wonderful to see more folks having conversations and not so many cell phones!
