'Port in a storm'..

After being buffeted about by the rough weather along the coast on Tuesday we called in at Hillarys Boat Harbour for a warm-up coffee. On a blustery wet day the Dôme Cafe  does look particularly  inviting, funny thing is if you take notice of reviews.. I never do I prefer to have my own experience :) they aren't as glowing as the lights above.. but if you pull in the first shot.. not a glum face in sight! I covertly took the shot of the lady in red below, but by the 'purse' of her lips I think she was on to me :). Happy Thursday, take care..

  1. Looks fine to go for coffee to somewhere warm and friendly. The lady in read is just involved in her newspaper, and not aware of you at all.

  2. As we experience afternoon temps in the mid-to-upper 80s and with humidity in the 70-80% range, it's hard to believe that it could be winter anywhere.

  3. You're a sneaky one, but perhaps not sneaky enough! I think she's on to you, too. The Dome does look like a nice place to sit and enjoy a hot cup of coffee on a cool, blustery day.

  4. She is probably reading the news of the world which is enough to purse anyone's lips!

  5. You made me think of my trip to London last November. It was so cold, I was always looking for a place to warm up but, not being a coffee drinker, I had to find alternatives or else go into the coffee shop and order a bottle of water. It's always fun to sit for while and watch the people go by.

  6. Oh, yeah, have to agree with RedPat, the world news these days is enough to wipe the smile off of just about all of our faces!! The Dome does look like a great place to hide from the weather. -- and since I wouldn't take a newspaper with me, I could smile the entire time I was there! Yep, and pose for pics as well! Great captures for the day as always!! Hope your week is going well!!

  11. Oh, Grace, how can you do this to me?! Showing a pic of a pizza at my time 09:30pm in colder getting weather where you just long for something yummy and warm?! ;-)
    Mouth watering! Despite that lady.
Am I "lucky" (calory-wise) we have no yummy Pizza-shop here in Braunschweig! (True, too!)

  13. Reviews are pretty tricky, and I prefer to form my own opinion, also.

  14. Lady in red is pretending not to know. It is amazing how often I find someone in a photo I take watching me take the photo and I never notice them at the time.

  17. We used to have a Dôme Cafe here and I liked their food but found it a bit expensive. The interiors looked almost exactly like yours!

  25. From the outside, it looks like a nice place. I don't pay a lot of attention to restaurant reviews either. Unless it involves some food prep issue that might kill me.
