What better way to spend a Sunday morning than wandering through the grounds and halls of the University of Western Australia (UWA) in the company of my sisters and Aimee. With some of Perth's best artists, designers and gourmets selling their work at Perth Upmarket held quarterly, this is one of the best markets to find that special something for most occasions.. my new granddaughter is in for a few very lovely surprises! You can see by the coats and jackets it was chilly, tres chilly, in fact it took beaucoup de café et petits gâteaux to warm us up :)
Winthrop Hall.. we weren't the only ones who thought it was a good idea!
A closer look at the stained glass window and the McGillivray Organ ...
.
The reflection pool...
... much better from this side don't you think! Oh, and the talented artists I mentioned earlier.. I'll introduce you to one tomorrow. Hope you had or are still having a wonderful weekend, take care...p.s. big catch up today!
See more Weekend Reflections here..
Nice view of the pool of water, color is so deep.
ReplyDeleteLovely campus.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day and a beautiful place!! I love your captures as always, Grace! Fun time with family! Hope you have a great new week!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day out with the family.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love those pipe organs; they are beautiful of themselves. The area of the market looks like a very pleasant place.
ReplyDeleteOh Grace what a wonderful event, location and set of photos!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look très chilly to me though! Where are the anoraks? :-) I hope you'll show us some gâteaux... and what you bought! :-)
A beautiful way to spend a Sunday....
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the organ pipes and reflecting pool. I see you got both subjects to cooperate.
ReplyDeleteThat organ is a piece of architecture in itself. "Petits gateaux"? Were there no large ones?
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to see such an event so well-attended, Grace! It is 29˚C and humid here - feels like 37˚C so it is shorts and flipflops all around! I had my first Mojito of the season this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great event, but I am not sure if I believe petits gâteaux.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful place! Did you ever hear a performance on that wonderful looking pipe organ?
ReplyDeleteA lovely post Grace, wish I could have been there too - my Dad would have loved seeing the beautiful organ. Thank you! xoJoy
ReplyDeleteYou weren't too busy with your camera to shop? It looks wonderful, both as an institution of higher education and as a venue for shopping.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like an event well worth visiting. Heck, that campus alone is well worth a visit. I love the reflection in that last shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a grand place! That organ really draws my attention.
ReplyDeleteGood day for it! Thought you would go, longing to find out what you purchased.
ReplyDeleteWhat an educational Eden!

ReplyDeleteYes, Gracie it was very cold, especially setting up much earlier before the punters arrived. Nice post.
ReplyDeleteA lovely spot for a market! What a pity I couldn't go, but I was in bed with a bad cold.
ReplyDeleteA hotspot for the sunday for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThese are great. Looks like a beautiful event.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful place... and that organ, whoa!

ReplyDeleteHow splendid! Love that organ too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference to my old campus! Wow!
ReplyDeleteHm, sadly I can´t see the Perth Upmarket-site. I get the message: "Forbidden - Users from your country are not permitted to browse this site.". Germany... So not advanced...
The beautiful stained glass and the great pipe organ!
ReplyDeleteThe reflections of the pool is great!
