It was, as they say in the classics 'a filthy day' :) oh how I love those days! I enjoy driving in the rain, but when it's torrential as it was on the way to Kings Park yesterday je préfère being driven.. There was a time when the freeway was a little quiet on the weekends, now there isn't anytime when the freeway is quiet.. which is good, a sign that the many attractions the city has to offer these days are drawing Perthites out of the suburbs in droves :)
A drive by splodgy shot of St. Georges Terrace on the way to the park, even more fabulous in the rain! Show you what the city looked like in a thunderstorm tomorrow.. If the sun is shining in your neck of the woods this weekend.. enjoy! Happy Sunday, take care and stay safe..
Ah, now that looks like Portland and/or Seattle! WET!!! Terrific captures as always -- regardless of the weather!! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy and stay dry!!
ReplyDeletelove the rain shots Grace...delicious! be safe!
ReplyDeleteYour winters still look better than ours!
ReplyDeleteWhat a set of great shots Grace.
ReplyDeleteWe need some of that rain here in California!!!
ReplyDeleteThere do seem to be a lot of folks out in the rain! Cloudy here today....but we met friends for a bite of lunch...always fun. Stay dry!
ReplyDeleteThe statue looks drenched. That's wet and disagreeable weather for sure!
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that! Rain in Perth?
ReplyDeleteThat's photoshop surely?
Enjoy the rain... short-lived, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots Grace - we are having the same weather down here, having really got into it midday yesterday. The rain came down in torrents overnight, so bad it was quite frightening but no thunder yet!!! Joy x
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't photography wonderful after the rain? Well, even in the rain. Those first shots are quite dramatic!
ReplyDeleteIt is to be +27˚C and sunny here tomorrow - perfect for the 2nd day of summer! I don't mind driving in rain but snow is another matter - too many fools on the road, Grace.
ReplyDeleteGreat greys
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth were you doing going to Kings Park in weather like this (great shots by the way!!).
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good day for black and white.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good stay to stay home yesterday! I had to pick up my husband from the airport and I had to drive at 60km only as I could hardly see the car ahead of me....I hate driving in the rain!
ReplyDeleteLove that second shot. We had the threat of rain today but it was just a threat.
ReplyDeleteOho .. you have had heavy rain. I don't like drive in raining.
ReplyDeleteBut I love your second photo
I bet you are happy to have rain after such a dry summer. I like the effect of only a little colour in the first shot.......mmmmmm how is it done??
ReplyDeleteI bet that rain is a welcome sight to you. I know it would be to me.
ReplyDeleteI like the way rain can make colours look so vibrant. I like rainy days as long as there aren't too many of them in a row.
ReplyDeleteWhy does the rain in your shots look refreshing and cleansing? Is there a hint of light behind those clouds?
ReplyDeleteFeels like home:) Just looks different with all the skyscrapers and the exotic trees etc. Do something nice and the rain is probably good for your garden.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, rain. Haven't had any in over a week and it feels good!
ReplyDeleteHow do you do that black and white with the blue and red popping out?
B But I thought Perth was always sunny?!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Grace, especially the seond one!
ReplyDeleteThat top shot of yours is a fabulous image even if it is raining cats and dogs.
ReplyDeleteI hate rain but the first photo is very amazing!! Arianna
