Leaves float silently down
Yellow, orange.. and brown
The wind blowing them all around
Before they languish on the ground...
You've seen my rustique (?) homemade birdbath before.. usually with a bird in it :) After the strong winds we've had over the last week it's surprising that there are any autumn leaves, barely hanging on, left to fall! Zooming in on the leaves and reflections in the water, adding a touch of this a smidge of that et voilà a winter abstract! It's going to be a wet and wild weekend here in Perth, hoping to get out and capture some of it! Bon weekend, take care..
Those fall colours are gorgeous, Grace!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I like winter......it's much like yours but a little bit more subtle I think. No aircon with doors and windows open:) Very lovely image.
ReplyDeleteAnd we've just said goodbye to these colors and welcomed the colors of spring!! What an incredible, wonderful world we both live in!! Love your captures for the day as always, Grace!! The colors are gorgeous indeed!! Hope you have a lovely weekend!! Stay warm -- while I'm trying to stay cool!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful and so creative !Summer is beginning tomorrow here , and I'm already longing for autumn ..
ReplyDeleteI wish you a nice week-end !
I like your winters better than ours!
ReplyDeleteGood one. Grace! Too bad you couldn't store the rain for use next summer!
ReplyDeleteThat's very pretty and very creative, Grace! Good on you! I prefer winter in the abstract, actually. Especially in the north. Winter in the reality is just too darn cold! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photograph and word picture Grace. Bon weekend to you too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. As winter starts there; summer starts tomorrow here.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors in both of those. My first time to see the bird bath...I like it!...Janey
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the W/E - calm up here at the moment. In fact it looks like a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteMarvelous abstract.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really nice abstract. I like to think of pictures like this as a mini-landscape; it gives you a feel for the wider scene.
ReplyDeleteAhh...shades of winter weather sound so refreshing right about now. I love the golden leaves. We are in for a scorcher of a weekend here in the desert. I wish we could get some of your wet and wild.
ReplyDeleteI like the birdbath and I love the Autumn tree colours.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Grace.
Strange to see autumn colours at your place, when I think of Australia I always see sunshines in my mind. We have the longest day with daylight here today, midsummer, with daylight until 10.30 PM. Keep going.
ReplyDeleteThere is a certain "style" of your bird feeder. We have two we devised ourselves, but I like yours better than ours. The top photo reminds me of a kaleidoscope. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI guess this weekend would include the shortest days of the year for you.
ReplyDeleteFeels like autumn here, too, Grace - just not with dying leaves.
ReplyDeleteOfficial first day of summer today (21st, longest day, too).
I wear: T-shirt, sweater and jacket. 15C, cloudy and windy. Brrrr.
what a lovely yard you have Grace...love your bird bath! I keep forgetting that our seasons are not the same so it was a bit of a wake up call to see your vibrant fall colors...that's about 6 or 7 months away for us here in Florida...some years we have the fall color, sometimes not. so happy you're having rain, wonderful stuff :) happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe're just starting to get Spring up here...I can't fathom thinking about Fall!!!
ReplyDeleteYour winter looks more like my autumn. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are making me dream of autumn!
ReplyDeleteI felt thrill chills!
ReplyDeleteWonderful colors!!!
ReplyDeleteThe first is great, especially reflections are interesting.
