It isn't all sunshine in Perth ....!

Looks pretty bleak right! We've had a fairly mild winter so far in Perth, with an average rainfall in the June/July period of 184.0mm, the fourth driest period in 136 years. So far in the first 13 days of August we've had 84.2mm, with 45.0mm of them falling all on the one day last week, the 8th.. I remember it well, was drenched more than once :) I'm sure you'll agree one of the nicest things to do on a wintery day is to be warm indoors looking out, like I was yesterday in San Churro. I'm hoping the August average will be up, how much rain we get from this point on is crucial and will determine  how strict the water restrictions will be through summer. Happy Wednesday, hope it's a good one, take care.....

  1. I think we have finally gone from a deficit to a surplus in the water department. I hope so anyway.

Cricket, when she was a puppy seemed to jump straight up and down like cricket. Plus she picked it! Have a nice day, Grace. Stay dry.

  3. Grey sky - hope you get lots of rain. We are far behind as well, for years, our lake level has dropped tremendously, still building new houses though.

I'm glad to be here now, gray skies are not for me...
    Happy Wednesday to you, Grace!

  5. I always love your captures, Grace, good weather or bad!! We've had an amazing run of sunny, beautiful, but not too hot days for the northwest and I'm not complaining because I know the rain and gray will return soon enough!! The great weather surely did make my move considerably easier than it would have been otherwise. Take care, stay warm -- and dry!

  6. Your second image is nice, Grace. I am on a one week trip around northern New England and it is raining today, so I am inside. I really don't mind some "down time" and the plants need the rain.

  8. Oh, Grace, mais non, the first pic sure does look like winter (like a mean November-day over here), and my... what is it with the weather this year in both our places?
The second pic, though... I can very clearly see that man wearing a t-shirt! ;-)
I´m really thinking about getting my microwave-sheep tonight. Brr, a cold Tuesday night over here!

  12. Oh no! (There must be an appropriate French expression I could used here.) How neat that your days are getting longer and that sunshine will be dazzling bright soon. First, you must put up with the rain, I guess!

  13. Please keep your winter for a little while longer so those of us in the northern hemisphere aren't forced into winter too soon.
I enjoy seeing a wintry Perth scene. I wish you many more rainy days so your gardens can have lots of water later in the year.

  16. It is wonderful to see the rain from home.
Rain is good for no later drought.
    Very good Pictures, as always.

  18. Forecasting, especially long term, is based more on probability than prediction. It was horridly hot here at this time last year. This summer has been weirdly cool. The family is going to the baseball game tomorrow night and it should be around 19 or 20. Bizarre. We wish you rain, gentle and evenly distributed.
