Brave souls preparing to take up the challenge to see who can eat the world's hottest burrito the fastest...!
Phew..struggling!
Seriously mate! incredulous glances.....!
We have a winner! Los compadres :) looking very relieved that they can stop now! Salsa's Fresh Mex Grill in the Carillon City Arcade together with local radio station 92.9 put out the beat the heat challenge for a chance to win $5000 (see link)...not for the faint hearted, literally, or those with respiratory problems, sacre bleu how hot can it be! I like it hot, on a scale of one to ten maybe a 7/8, what about you where would you be on that scale? Hope you're having a fab weekend, it's still raining here in Perth, nice! Take care.....
I love burritos, but I'm sure I'd come in last! What a fun post for the day, Grace! Great smile/giggle to start my weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love burritos but on the 3 to 4 scale for me. That young will probably pay for the a second time. Haha! Hope your acing a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery good shots Grace.... i like this serie.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Scary stuff! I'd probably be around 6/7.
ReplyDeleteplease.pass.the.cold.water.stat! :)
ReplyDeleteI've discovered I'm quite the weenie when it comes to hot...about 4 or 5 on a 10 point scale!!! But TheChief is about a -2!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't quite get the eating contest concept...I actually think it's rather scary...I can't imagine how hard it is on one's body!!!
PS...when I saw that first shot...my immediate thought was "must be getting ready for a seance!!!"
ReplyDeleteI would have to pass... hot and spicy food doesn't do the trick for me!
ReplyDeleteTheChieftess makes me laugh! This contest is a total non-starter for me!!!! I love the sequence of shots. Glad no one got sick. (Thanks for your help, Grace. I have put everything back...hope I haven't made a worse mess.) Enjoy your weather ;).
ReplyDeleteI would be on a scale of 6.
ReplyDeleteEat a lot and fast not for me.
Hugs and kisses.
I should send them some of our New Mexico chile!
ReplyDeleteYou know as I get older I tend to eat slower and slower. I'll leave this to the young ones. I used to be able to do a 7 or 8 on the hot scale but not any more. I think I'm on the 5 or 6 scale now. Just had Mexican last night and it was extra good.
ReplyDeleteI don't regard eating fast or a lot as a virtue.
ReplyDeleteI'de rather have an Ice Cream, please.
ReplyDeleteNice reportage, burrito contest, mucho flavor!
ReplyDeleteI think these types of contests can be dangerous. Like Sharon, I can't eat as hot as when I was younger. I wonder if that happens to people who were brought up with spicy food as kids.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to say the same thing as Andrew...
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend, Grace!
Great! :)
ReplyDeletepathetic me...i'd be a 4. love this series of shots.
ReplyDeleteI love a burrito - a 7 or 8 for me please although I do tend to hiccup around the 8 mark if it's too hot! I knew the lad on the right was going to win - he looks like he likes his food!
ReplyDeleteWho can eat the world's hottest burrito the fastest??? What else, of course! LOL!
ReplyDeleteOy!! Better them than me - I wouldn't have lasted past one!! Love the smiling faces (smiling amidst the heat, brave souls indeed:)
ReplyDeleteTakes the fun out of eating. Dont you think Grace?
ReplyDeleteFunny competition and your pictures are great!
