Walking along the boardwalk in between downpours at Hilary's Marina yesterday afternoon trying out Aimee's new
45mm F1.8 Prime lens ..mainly used for portraits, perfectly clear subject with softly blurred background. I like it a lot, might have to take it into the city with me tomorrow and actually try it out on, wait for it..real people :) it can be my challenge for the day! Meanwhile Mr & Mrs J Seagull were setting up the beginnings of home on a boat that was worth somewhere in the 'more than a house' value range, let's hope the weather puts the owners off sailing until junior is off their, em.. wings! TGIF absolutely this week, take care.....
I love Aimee's new camera!! Perfect for portraits -- birds or people!!! And what a great shot this is!! Such a handsome couple Mr. and Mrs. J. Seagull are!! I'll be glad to see the end of this week, too!!
ReplyDeleteOi! That's my boat! Clean it before you leave!
ReplyDeleteHa ha, Mr & Mrs J Seagull chose a nice place ;)
ReplyDeleteJudging by the state of the blue cover, it looks like they've been eating well. Maybe that lens is a bit too good :)
ReplyDeleteStill Thursday over here, but - oh-la-la - the Seagull-family-to-be sure has taste ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery good Aimee's new camera!
ReplyDeleteFunny couple of Gulls.
Hugs and kisses.
What a fun lens to play with!!! Seagulls sure know the best places to camp out!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a bird's life! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSassy bums!
ReplyDeleteAloha
This camera is great, the blur is perfect!I love this picture, lovely gulls!
ReplyDeletehugs
Léia
Oh that's fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou tell a wonderful tale, Grace. I am guessing Mr & Mrs Seagull will be moving soon :). Good luck with that lens. You'll have fun with it for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun lens. Great challenge. I'm sure you will be a good portrait photographer Grace.
ReplyDeleteHaha, here's hoping the Seagulls get the message:) I'm looking forward to the great new lens experiment - I'm betting your portraits will be fab!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the lens and make great portraits.
ReplyDeleteA very distinctive pair of gulls!
ReplyDeleteI am afraid that their "layette" is making a mess of the boat. Looks like a good place to set up housekeeping to me.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Sure made the gulls look pretty. Wonder if that lens would improve my looks? :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteNow, you have done it. I have spent the last half an hour looking at prime lenses for my camera. Have fun shooting portraits with the new lens!
ReplyDeleteThings are getting very messy on the boat.
ReplyDeleteA couple of boat squatters - not a bad idea!
ReplyDeleteSailing is definitely a rich man's sport. Cost of boat, slip fees, maintenance of said boat...It's better to have a friend who owns one.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot! both birds looking cute and pretty....
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful job on this photo. That is the exact lens that is my next purchase. I can't wait to try it out.
ReplyDeleteThat is a nice lens. I've got a Nikkor 50mm, f/1.8, which I like very much. Gulls have more gall than Napoleon. They should carry their own pooper-scoopers!
ReplyDeleteI love the seagulls!
ReplyDeleteThese are some beautiful seagulls!
