I scream, you scream.....!

Known around the world and now newly arrived in Perth the US ice cream brand Ben & Jerry's was doing brisk business yesterday in it's temporary location in the Perth Cultural Centre. All in the name of research :) and to see exactly why it's such a popular ice cream worldwide we felt it was essential (?) to sample their wares. As far as ice cream goes I'm a vanilla girl and although it was OK, I have tasted creamier.. on the other hand P's triple caramel chunk was divine, and reading through their 'mission statement' I do admire their values. When you have ice cream what's your usual flavour of choice? Hope that you're enjoying your weekend, mine here in Perth is coming to an end unfortunately, ah well! there will be another in five minutes the way time is flying by, or is that just moi :) take care.....

  4. I do like their ice cream, but these days I try avoid all ice cream -- it's a little harder to burn off and while I've never had a weight problem, I don't want to start now!!!

  6. I like the Airstream but I don't find their ice cream that fabulous.
We splashed out on a fancy ice cream maker last year and it's wonderful. Makes excellent vanilla (I'll think of you) but my favourite to make is lemon meringue ice cream. I must do a post on it one day.
    Have a good week!

  7. Ben and Jerry's is OK, but nothing beats Blue Bell Ice Cream from the little creamery in Brenham, Texas! :)

  8. It's funny to hear reviews on our food. I agree....the ice cream is okay. There is much better out there, but in a tight spot....it meets the needs:) My life is over as well. Tomorrow work begins and my quests will have to take a back seat. But it also marks the middle of summer which I've had enough of here:)

  13. I have seen Ben and Jerrys but not tried it. I love the old US bus. It should become permanent.

  14. It's a holiday weekend here so we are off on Monday. There are a few small local ice cream people who have super rich products Kawartha Dairy, Greg's Ice Cream, and a couple of others. I usually go for butterscotch or caramel or Maple/walnut.

  21. It is decent ice cream but very caloric and fatty. We have local ice creams I like better. These days I giggle when people talk about Ben and Jerry's as if they are still run by a bunch of hippies. They are a subsidiary of the international conglomerate, Unilever.

  22. Have to say I stick with locally produced ice cream. My poison is mocha almond fudge regardless of whose making it. Is that a real airstream modified into a store on wheels?

  23. You deserve to test that stuff daily I feel.

  24. I wish we had one of these in Paris especially in the heatwave! I discovered Ben and Jerry's frozen yoghurt back in the 80s during my first trip to the USA. When I came back to France, I thought aha, no more frozen yoghurt for me... We do get a small selection in supermarkets but not my favourite peanut butter... Any other ice-cream I like hazelnut best. There goes my very long comment of the day!

  28. I'm lactose intolerant so I can't have any, but if they ever get to Manila, I can just imagine the looooong lines! Love, love, love the converted Airstream!

  34. We all love Ben & Jerry's. Their original ice cream manufacturing plant/dairy/whatever, is only a 3 hr drive from where I live. Unfortunately, the "guys" sold out to Lever Bros about 5 years ago. Nobody was happy about that.
