I've been asked to take family and portrait photos for a 90th birthday celebration next week, so I've been practicing on any willing (and in some cases used bribes on the not so willing !!) volunteers to get some ideas before the event. I won't indulge and post all of my efforts, just this one because I'm really happy with it. Back to Perth 'goings on' tomorrow!!
A beautiful mood captured here! There is a feeling of being a secret watcher while the subject is completely absorbed in her moment!
ReplyDeleteYou have a very appealing portrait here. Good luck with this new project.
ReplyDeleteIf you pull off a few of these at the real event you will endear yourselves to all...as if you hadn't already done so...
ReplyDeleteYou have every reason to be happy, it's a great portrait indeed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Greyscale, was hoping for that air of mystery!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jack, I always get a bit nervous beforehand.
Think it will be a challenge Brattcat, but we'll see..
Thanks JM,was lucky I had a beautiful subject.
ReplyDeleteCan see why you are pleased with this one. Great capture.
ReplyDeleteStunning, lighting is great, did you use fill flash? I need to get back into portraiture but want to try more environmental stuff. Need to get over my aversion to flash as well.
ReplyDeleteYou've done well Grace -amazing clarity.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteLike you Ann, I also have an aversion to flash and use natural light as much as possible, that was early evening light.
ReplyDeletethis is lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove this portrait, please post some more...

ReplyDeleteShe doesn't look 90. Well preserved, if you ask me. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteHahahaha I may claim to be an old lady but I haven't quite hit 90 yet Birdman!
