A quarter of pear drops please.....!!
The British Lolly Shop was opened in Perth in 2002 by an English (of course!) couple Eddie and Deborah Croft. The idea came from fond memories of growing up in England, saving up their pocket money and heading to the local sweet shop, to make the big decision of what to pick from the many rows of jars filled with brightly coloured sweets. I still have the same problem today.... surely not just me!! The idea became so popular that they have expanded and now have shops in Kings Cross and Darling Harbour in Cairns and in New Zealand. I wonder...will we ever grow too old for the lure of the jar filled with coloured sweets, I hope not!!

I think there is one here in Glebe Point Road, too, Grace. My father loved 'rock'.
ReplyDeleteI love going there and buying Scottish Rock which is my Mum's heritage. Have a great week, Fiona
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could ever out grow a place like this.
ReplyDeleteWell they really did come up with a good idea then! I wonder how many people have broken their teeth on hard candy?
ReplyDeleteWhat would you bring home? That is if you didn't eat it all before reaching home.
ReplyDeleteIt is a colorful store. I don't like candy as much now as when I was little.
ReplyDeleteI'm more of a licorice and fudge type gal Ciel and goes without say...chocolate!! what about you?
ReplyDeleteThere's not much better than a good candy store! Our downtown has those same soldiers set up every year as Christmas decorations.
ReplyDeleteI'm a chocolate gal Grace - I'd come away with bags stuffed with chocolate bullets - fruchocs - cobblers - anything as long as it's chocolate!
ReplyDeleteThat's an inviting place and your great and full of light picture is sweet and perfect!
ReplyDeleteI have already made my dentist a wealthy man...
ReplyDeleteSeems like paradise to some.....I think it would be difficult for even me to resist the temptation!
ReplyDeleteI want candy! Chocolate is my weakness, then liqorice and toffee and fudge and...
ReplyDeleteDEFINITELY pear drops!!! Oooh it's been donkey's years since I've had pear drops, I could O.D. on them! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place, for kids of all ages I think!
ReplyDeleteChrissy

ReplyDeleteThe crow in my pic is sitting on a peepul (Ficus religiosa) tree.
Very nice place for many, I think...
ReplyDeleteI like the two wooden figures left and right

ReplyDeleteSuch shops are opening everywhere, we have two in this small town, and I wish I had opened one somewhere. Mind you my teeth might rot....
