There is a lot of construction going on in Perth just now so there was no shortage of material for this months theme day. This amazingly futuristic looking construction on Wellington Street is going to be the Perth Arena, Perth's biggest indoor entertainment and sports facility. If you click this link you will see what it will look like when it's completed, quite fantastic (Perth Arena when complete). It's been in progress for over a year now and it could be at least another at this rate until it is completed. Standing a little way further down Wellington St. is the now boarded and closed up Entertainment Centre, I have many happy memories of watching The Wildcats basketball team play home games there and also concerts, hopefully the new arena will be able to live up to it's memory.

Very interesting design.
ReplyDeleteI hope it'll be worth it too Dianne, as far as I was concerned there was nothing wrong with the old Entertainment Centre.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jim.
Did you click the link Cloudia, it really is a bizarre image.
I'm with you Ann I like my buildings not to look like something that's been dropped out of space!
But I must give it that Randy, it is interesting!
size matters :)
ReplyDeletefunky design!
I am curious to see this when finished!
ReplyDeleteAs Randy has already said interesting design, I guess perhaps it might grow on you.
ReplyDeleteThat will be an interesting building!
ReplyDeleteCool it is.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell if the building was being constructed or de-constructed. A good theme choice.
ReplyDeletevery nice
ReplyDeleteI love corrugated iron - and on this building it looks sensational!!
ReplyDeleteVery cool architecture!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photo for a fantastic construction. Great find!
ReplyDeleteWow that is some building! Right now it looks kind of like a space station! Hope you'll show us what it looks like when completed :D
ReplyDeleteHi Kaori, if you click on the link you'll see what it will look like when completed, when that might be I have no idea. I will re-visit and take another shot then.
ReplyDeleteIt is massive looking. My first thought about its use was either a Art Museum or warehouse, but an arena is better. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteVery strange...
ReplyDeletebut interesting !
Pierre
You are lucky to live in a place where the economy supports a lot of construction. This looks like an interesting building. I hope you show it when finished.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting and futuristic looking construction! You have a very good eye.
ReplyDeleteNice one. It would look terrible in Versailles but I like it!
ReplyDeleteWow, cool!
ReplyDeleteI can't say I'm particularly fond of what I see but perhaps when it's completed... ?
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting. I hope it's as functional as it is unique.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, this has to be the most unusual construction today. Extraordinary building.
