On the last Friday in June every year here in Perth you'll find quite a few people walking around with red noses, or big red noses attached to the front of their cars or anywhere they might feel inclined to put a red nose!! No, it's not because we're all suffering dreadful colds because it's winter and the temperature has dropped (???) to a mere 20C 'quelle horreur!!' It's the day volunteers don said noses and collect money for the most worthy cause SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) (
Sids and Kids) They rely mostly on support from the community and the Perth community is always very generous, it's very reassuring to see young people like the lovely lass above who donate their time and enthusiasm to charity work.....
Silly, but good silly.

ReplyDeleteThankyou for this photo, even if I look a bit silly :) It's such a good cause. They estimate that the SIDS and Kids has saved approximately 6,500 babies lives since the early 90s. We were so grateful for the support and donations which will be used for education, research and bereavement services. Thank you Perth :)

We have the Red Nose Day here too, but I can't remember when. This is such a cheerful picture and one of those you simply can't turn into b&w! :-)
