On the way home from Lesueur National Park (yesterday's post) on Wednesday we stopped in Nambung National Park to see the Pinnacles. A surreal sight it was, the weathered limestone pillars, some small and squat some tall and thin, some of the tallest reaching up to 7mt, stretched out over a vast area as far as the eye could see. We were the only ones there and quietly standing amongst these bizarre formations was an otherworldly experience. There are three major theories as to how and why the pinnacles formed, if you are interested that info is HERE..
It's hard to imagine that a sign would be required but this is the world we live in.. I have to admit the French instruction made me smile :) Happy Friday, hope you have a good weekend, see you on Monday, take care and stay safe.. P.s. can you imagine how cool it would be to take photos here at sunrise or sunset, would look amazing.
A very surrealistic view.
ReplyDeleteAmazing site/sight. The colour adds a lot to the setting as well. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDearest Grace,
ReplyDeleteThat was worthwhile seeing the Pinnacles!

...beautiful sights, but I wonder is many read the sign and stay off of the pinnacles?
ReplyDeleteYou might be getting double comments from me, as I'm having tech problems leaving comments. This is such an incredible sight, and one I would love to visit. Mother Nature at her most mysterious. Your photos are outstanding!
ReplyDeleteThe blue sky sets these shots off so well, Grace. It is very other-worldly!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I've never seen anything like it!
ReplyDeleteNo doubt I will dream of them tonight, G!
ReplyDeleteA magical place.
ReplyDeleteDig It - Totally Dig It
ReplyDeleteCheers
This is so amazing and exactly the kind of places I like to explore. Very interesting and as you said otherworldly. You are so right, sunrise or sunset would be amazing for the photographer and for imagining you are standing on another planet. Beautiful photographs.
ReplyDeleteAin't nature just grand. I wonder if there have been films made at the location.
ReplyDeleteNever seen anything like this before.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Truly Amazing
ReplyDeleteWhat, no climbing? But I enjoy climbing things! Spectacular landscape Grace. Will read up on this now.
ReplyDeleteIt is an amazing landscape. We visited there some years ago.

ReplyDeleteAmazing to see this landscape!
ReplyDeleteWow. A pretty amazing place. This planet earth is quite an odd thing, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool landscape! Great pictures of it! And yes, as one of our fellow CDP bloggers pointed out, it does look a little like the Garden of the Gods that I frequently post about in Colorado Springs Daily Photo :)
ReplyDeleteAwwwww... Grace, sweet memories.
ReplyDeleteWe just took off from Perth in 1999 in the huge Nissan Patrol and I was the driver. You know Ingo, huh?
Correcting me. Having the cam on babbling away. I cannot show this to anyone, LOL. (I became a "good" driver, though - I managed not to smash the car...).
Sad they need this sign now.
Embarrassing, but not surprising in comes in German as well.
Looks a bit like the termite hills in the northern territories we saw long ago on holiday.
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing place Grace. I've taken all my overseas visitors there and they loved it too.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is just an incredible and healing place so happy you shared it with us. Amazing, what lies at the reach of a wander isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteThere are other worlds and this is one of them Grace.
ReplyDeleteAwesome post
